We are incredibly excited to announce that this year at Musicport, we will be having a Saturday afternoon Ceilidh with the one and only Monster Ceilidh Band! 💃🕺🎻🎶
@monsterceilidhband
‘Festival favourites Monster Ceilidh Band have created a sound full of head-banging, glowstick-waving energy - and it’s epic!’ The electro-folk pioneers from Newcastle are no strangers to experimentation, pushing the boundaries of contemporary folk in all the right directions. The quintet features virtuosic traditional accordion and violin players Amy Thatcher and Catherine Geldard backed by Kieran Szifris on Octave Mandolin, Ivor Novello nominated electronic composer and Bassist David de la Haye and Youtube sensation D’n’B producer Joseph Truswell.
In order to provide space for the most important part of any Ceilidh - the dancers! - we will, of course, need to make some space in the main hall. We will temporarily be moving some of our seating to accommodate this wonderful interactive and visually engaging addition to the lineup, so bring your dancing shoes! 🩰👞(If you've not already packed them 😉)
Here's a clip from their recent Ceilidh at Shrewsbury Folk Festival
