Congratulations to all who came out and gave the Howling Dog After Dark Trail Run and or Wild Dog Mountain Bike Race a go. Well done to all our event and category winners, especially those that placed in both events. We loved the crazy fast sub 2hr 23k Howling Dog runners, the epic disco energy, the weather, the family rivalry (and flat head torch excuses), the record number of kids in the Wild Dog, Brett Washington's Wild Dog winning single speed mountain bike and all the smiles at the finish line of both events. Massive thanks again to all our sponsors including Des's, Your Dental Care, Whyalla City Council, U-Pedal Cycles, Coates and Veolia. And thanks to everyone who generously volunteered their time. We would probably struggle to pull it all together each year without you. We're already planning next year so keep fit, healthy and on the lookout for adventure!

Only one week to go until the Howling Dog After Dark Trail run and Wild Dog 3hr Mountain Bike Race. Prizes are good to go with standard glassware for the crazy runners and scrap bike parts and timber splinters for the riders. The course is looking perfect after some nice gentle rain and trail fairy raking. Remember online entry closes Friday at 9pm for both events so avoid the late fee and enter now.

Only 2 weeks to go until the 2024 Wild Dog mountain bike race and the new course is pretty well locked in and ready to go. Get ready for plenty of fast and technical downhill sections, some crazy creek lines and the usual flowy saltbush singletrack and challenging rocky climbs.

Online entries close Friday 12 July at 9pm so get onto it.

Some of the new sections are on show in the video below. Thanks to the young crew for showing us how it's done. Apparently massive fat whips are mandatory this year!

Absolutely perfect conditions for the first Peak, Pedal & Pints gravel ride on the weekend at Darke Peak on the Eyre Peninsula. Super happy to have been able to help make this event possible. Cleve council went over and above to highlight their beautiful part of the world and put on an amazing day, especially the post ride entertainment. Plenty of smiles at the finish line (even from those that went the wrong way).

If anyone is after some more information about the Peak, Pedal & Pints Gravel ride event at Darke Peak on Saturday 20th April check out the Cleve Council's website below. Plenty of information on accomodation options, food, entertainment and the all important course maps.

Great to see so many taking the plunge and entering in the 120k course option already. Also note the inclusion of a kids 30 minute enduro gravel ride planned for Saturday night. Bring the whole family. It's going to be epic so get on board!

The super cool events for the Eyre Peninsula region just keep coming! Get your gravel or mountain bike ready and lock in the Saturday 20 April 2024 Peak, Pedal & Pints family friendly gravel riding event at Darke Peak (Short drive NW of Cleve). If you haven't been there you must definitly check it out. They have some of the best gravel roads and outback scenery in the state. There are 3 different length rides to choose from including the nice and easy 30km loop around the Darke Range, a 60km exploration around the Darke Range, Carappee Hill and amazing gravel goodness east of Darke Peak or the epic 120km+ journey from Darke Peak to Cleve and back via the Darke Range, Cleve Hills and stunning Carappee Hill.

Stick around after the ride for plenty of food, drink and entertainment.

Information for Local Triathlon in the City of Whyalla

Disappointingly we have had to cancel the Wararda Adventure Race due to low entry numbers. It appears the community is not interested or available to have a go at what would have been the most amazing event we ever attempted to organise. Kayaking, mountain biking, trail running and surprise adventure activities on a course only revealed just before the start time with the potential to race into the night. Sounded pretty good to us.

Massive thanks to all who entered and supported us but it's back to the drawing board for now.

Okay, now that the Howling Dog and Wild Dog events are out the way it's time to put the hard word out to any potential participants of the Wararda Adventure Race, Whyalla South Australia, Saturday 9 September. It's crunch time for us as event organisers and as hard as it is for us to admit, we currently don't have enough entrants registered to justify the rapidly approaching mammoth course setting effort and costs incurred to date. So if you or someone you know is actually very interested and were thinking about entering a team but have been waiting for approval from the gods or local fortune teller's extended weather forecast, we need to know who's in by this Thursday. We are chomping at the bit to provide the people of South Australia with it's only true adventure race but demand must be there.

Go on, be brave, be bold and inspire us with your journey.
