Got the reminder that I have not been hitting the keyboard so just a quick update on upcoming weddings with consecutive Saturdays coming up this weekend then one in Mid November which comes after a break on the South Coast. I have been busy with being privileged to officiate at 6 funerals for Tobin Brothers. Corryong, Walwa, Tawonga and Chapel services. All meaningful and I am sure a comfort for the families, some of whom haven’t experienced death and grief.
A wonderful sense of satisfaction to be able to assist at such a difficult time.

Always fascinating to hear the stories of people in eulogies. On Monday I travelled to Corryong to officiate at a funeral for a 92 year old woman, born during the depression, who had a most interesting life,albeit one of hard work as a dairy farmer which incorporated all the work required on a farm, raising a family but having time have time for knitting, crocheting, preserving fruit, gardening & raising a family and becoming an excellent golfer !
A busy life well lived ! Suitable farewelled in Wodonga & Corryong !

A big night of celebration last Saturday 27 July with a surprise wedding for family members under the pretence of family photos before a major birthday celebration. I was supposed to be the photographer,hence my very casual clothes. Great night, Super couple to work with !

Steady enquiry as we move towards Spring. Also have had a new Webpage created by Jacob Dowlan Technology deslonergancelebrant.com.au for those wanting information.
I note a trend towards smaller weddings which are equally as personal and can be conducted mid week or whenever you so desire.
I recently completed my Ongoing Professional Development which was a great way to refresh one’s knowledge.
Had the privilege of conducting a funeral recently. The Chapel was overflowing for a man who was loved by family and community !
I’m happy to work with your funeral director as well as yourselves to create a fitting farewell for your loved one !

Listening to radio yesterday and a celebrant who barracks for Collingwood who is desperate for a ticket to next Saturday’s offered a fee free ceremony in exchange for a ticket to the game saying his fees start at $1,000.
I thought hmmmm maybe I should adjust my modest fee, but happy with my fee structure. And I’m not a Collingwood supporter.
Maybe next year when North Melbourne play I may be offering the same !
Enjoy the big game(s) NRL is on Sunday night !

Privileged to officiate at a funeral today in Yarrawonga for a woman in early 50s.
A beautiful farewell with six speakers-all delivered beautiful tributes to mother, daughter, partner and sister and Best Friend.
Service started off with a two minute film clip from Love Actually.

Received a wedding enquiry last week from a young woman whose Mothers wedding I officiated at some ten years ago and the impression has remained sufficiently to ask if I would be her celebrant next year when she marries her fiancé. Of course I said YES ! One never knows when we impress someone.
Had a similar instance yesterday from a funeral I celebrated where the person commenting said I had gone above and beyond in finding out things about the persons life that added so much to the Celebration of Life !
One never knows when you are being observed !
