This little puddle and spoon brought a whole lotta joy to one little boy. It was just what he needed. He can't communicate verbally, but he didn't need to. He sat and dug and splashed and PLAYed. Then when he was done, he got up, held my hand briefly and left.

Loose parts PLAY is for everyone.

POP POP POP POP POP POP...pop a cheeky few dates into the PLAY planner! We are popping up for summer!

We will be popping up at the Wollongong Botanic Gardens once a month for the next little while. With a sneaky bonus double pop for the school holidays.

These sessions will be our usual mayhem.

A beautiful day to PLAY at the for another year!
Loose parts PLAY is such a great way for kids to be involved with adult events! Everybody wins.

Creativity and curiosity, architecture and autonomy, planning and PLAY!

And a first time for us, we have a PLAY session under a chandelier and with stained glass shining a coloured shadow on us....

Exciting news! We are now a registered provider for the and will be running regular monthly pop-up PLAY sessions and school holiday programs over the coming months!

Not only did we learn SO much at this Playwork Practitioner training hosted by Play Australia and Play Wales, but you just know that a trip to Reverse Garbage was always going to end up with some new cool weird and wonderful junk to explore at our coming PLAY sessions...

Head. Leg. A collection of pretend eggs. Trophies. A giant red spot. And who knows what else?!

We can't wait to PLAY again soon!

So exciting and inspiring to be part of this training being run by Play Australia.

The world of Play and Playwork is such a wonderful place to be ♥️♥️♥️. Still so so much to learn but everyday is an opportunity to be better and make the world a little better.

Welcome to Australia Martin King-Sheard!

Martin is joining us as part of our new international training partnership with Play Wales.

Over the next 18 days Martin will be working with 60 passionate play people across Australia who are aiming to be the first Australian cohort to receive Play Australia’s Certificate in Playwork Practice.

The certificate is cross sectoral, and we are excited to see how our diverse range of candidates will use their new knowledge of playwork practice in their fields of expertise!

Can confirm grown-ups are way more unruly in the foam noodle jousting arena than the kids! Kids at least PLAY by their own predetermined rules.

It's almost time for the school holidays. 👣💙💦 Yay!

Better start collecting cardboard boxes.

And masking tape!

The kids must be so ready to PLAY.

And hide. And draw. And run. And create. And laugh. And roll. And wiggle. And climb. And paint their hands. And wear no shoes. And fart in jars and make friends smell it. And sleep in. And stay up late. And snuggle in the sunny patch without being rushed. And eat you out of snacks. All the snacks.

Did you know that highlighters and things like fluoro paint glow under UV? They take in that UV energy, get super dooper excited and start a glowing party! Or a glowing box party as the case may be. It's taking our cardboard boxes to the next level!

Lots of PLAY ideas are happening here at 'rascals HQ (aka as our carport). The 'rascals at home are helping clean new junk, testing/destroying ideas and we are starting to get excited about going back to "work/PLAY" soon...
