The magic when working with the seasons is incorporating the flowers that only show their face for a short window rather than working with the same blooms again and again. Because we yawn too when we see the same wedding flowers on repeat.

The humble tree peony. She is only around for a short time but damn she knows how to bring it! Counting down the days until you come back into season.

Some very sweet words from Amy and Tom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Amy and Tom got married at The Cove, Jervis Bay.
As soon as I met her I knew this wedding was going to be an absolute vibe! We used a lot of colour and I cannot express to you how FUN it was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We created a large ground arbour full of texture and pops of colour which was repurposed to sit in front of the bridal table afterwards.
We matched the bridesmaids bouquets to the colour of their individual dresses and then incorporated all of those flowers (and a few surprise coral peonies) to create Amy’s bouquet.
The boys had the sweetest buttonholes created with purply/pink mini phalaenopsis orchids and an orange ranunculus. I had not seen the ties beforehand but it must have been fate because their paisley ties had all of the colours of the buttonhole, I couldn’t have been more chuffed.
The reception was sprinkled with bud vases, single stem vases and the most colourful candles in gold candle holders.
We set up a wrapping station so all the guests could bundle up the flowers and take them home afterwards.

It was such a pleasure to work with Amy and Tom on their wedding day. I love creating with flowers but what I love most are the beautiful couples I get to work with. It makes my heart flutter and fills my cup right up.

Flower meditation.

I don’t often share my flower play but I had the privilege of working in a very special persons home and their space seemed to match the flowers so perfectly.

I went to the flower markets without a plan and bought what stuck out to me most (this is often very dangerous). I also tested out some new floral mechanics which I must admit, I am totally obsessed with.

Flower play is such an important part of my growth and development as a wedding florist. When you just do, rather than think, amazing things can happen ✨

I apologise for not being too active on instagram lately. I have been ridiculously busy working behind the scenes. I used to roll my eyes when I saw posts like this but now sitting on the other side, I completely understand.

While we are in the wedding off season, I have a large to do list to get this business working as efficiently as possible. This will make the whole enquiry and quoting process much simpler for you and myself.

What to look for in your wedding florist.

Planning a wedding is not a easy task.
There are many moving parts and it can get overwhelming very quickly.
From the venue to the photographer to the celebrant to the musician to the… you get the picture. There are a lot of vendors that need to come together to create the vision your have for your special day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, how exactly do you know who the right person is for your day? Here are my top two tips.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, you need to pick someone who’s style you LOVE. If you are scrolling their instagram and you can see a bunch of posts that you just adore. That is a big tick!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Second, you need to pick someone who you TRUST. Floristry is a creative field. Almost all florists will tell you their best work is created when the client trusts them to do what they do best. Of course, we need a rough guide such as the colour palette and what elements are needed but when you trust us to do our job, that is when the magic happens.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Floral styling for a wedding is such a great honour. It is not a task I take lightly at all. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to make this day as perfect and special as our couple’s envisaged.

No matter how much knowledge and experience you have, there is always room for improvement.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here I am with Ash (the expert of experts) from at her recent En Plain Air workshop. Ash has created a community of florists where we don't compete against each other, we work together to support and educate each other because let's be real, there are plenty of fish in the sea.
Fish being you, our wonderful clients, and the sea being the endless supply of love filled weddings.

Having a beginners mind allows me to absorb knowledge from those around me and to reflect on all of my own practices with compassion and curiosity. This is how I push the boundaries and keep each and every event unique. Like I have said before, I do not create cookie cutter events.

Being a perfectionist and someone with incredibly high standards (It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me) you can trust that every little detail is considered. Not only do I want this for your wedding, but I want this for my business too.

How to use bold colours in your wedding?

Colour is tipped to be the next wedding trend in 2023 and I am all for it. There are countless combinations of colours so let's make it unique and true to your style.

From soft pastels to bold and bright, using colour on your day can elevate the mood and really get the party started.
Plus, using colour really makes your photos POP ✨

When using colour it is important to plan it out well. What is the vibe of the venue? What colour are the bridesmaids wearing? What accompanying styling will be used on the day?
