My Name is Tom Coburn,
I reside on the south coast of NSW, Australia. Growing up next to the ocean I developed a passion for surfing early, and through that, surf film making and photography. I started documenting the characters and intricacies of the ocean from a young age, and continue to do so. I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my ex

perience for adventure. But when a wedding photographer friend asked me to come along and shoot the greatest adventure in most anyone’s life, I knew I had found my niche. I see life in angles, in lines of perspective, a slight turn of the head, the blink of an eye, subtle glimpses of magic other folk might pass by. To me, filmmaking is not a service, its an art form. I like to think of your booking as a commission for an artwork, that you can view and enjoy for the rest of your days. I find satisfaction in capturing and documenting one of the most important days of your life in the way that I see it. Every wedding is a memorable experience for me. On the day, there is no team of 4 or 5 crew setting up tripods and cranes all over and causing a distraction, it is just me, subtly capturing what I see, when I see it. Life on the road is something I was raised to embrace, I am happy to travel whatever distance it may be to be there on your day.

As I’m sure plenty of you have probably seen that weddings for the time being have been limited to 5 people.

For anyone wanting to get married in the next 6 months, I couldn’t recommend eloping highly enough!
Some of the most beautiful ceremony’s i have been apart of have been intimate elopements.

How it would work for you: The two of you, the celebrant, myself and one other witness. I would document it in photo and video and make a film that your family and friends can watch to make them feel apart of it.
We can do it somewhere epic with an amazing view (though obviously not in Iceland where this shot was taken) and you could book a amazing airbnb somewhere close by to celebrate together afterwards.
Then, once this has all blown over, you can have a massive party with your friends and family to celebrate.

Please get in touch if you like the sound of this. This is what I would do for my wedding regardless of coronavirus :)

PSA:
Sadly, due to ‘the rona’ many couple are having to postpone their weddings. I just wanted to drop a line to all my clients and the wider community to say how deeply sorry I am if your wedding has been affected by this virus and the laws that have been put in place to control it.

I just wanted to say that I am here for you and will do my best to accommodate any changes you need to make. Please don’t be shy if you need to change, get in touch ASAP and let’s work this out together :)

Another note to any weddings going ahead: please follow the governments advice regarding your wedding and also use common sense around hygiene practices etc. I know it’s such a special day and it’s hard not to get carried away with excitement, but it’s really important not to be hugging all your guests etc. Just something to think about!

Apart from all this, it is business as usual. Dates are filling up fast for next year so please get in touch if you would like me to shoot your wedding 😊

P.s. I thought this photo was pertinent as Lauren and Tristan (who I must mention have no affiliation with coronavirus) are standing a around the minimum recommended distance away from each other.
