Last year we were lucky enough to receive funding through the TasPorts Community Grants Program to assist us in running a series of workshops exploring our connection to our local marine environments.

Workshops included digital art making, music composition using found sound, papermaking, film and visual arts. We worked with marine scientists from Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies - IMAS, as well as some wonderful local Palawa mentors and educators.

Over 120 people participated in these workshops, and we had the opportunity to showcase work created at the CHArts festival, and two major Watershed events.

In 2023, over 1200 individuals participated in more than 150 workshops, events, live music performances, youth leadership programs, community feasts, film screenings and more. We created work that was toured locally and across the state, hosted artists and thought leaders from around the country, worked with 7 local schools and engaged over 30 artists and arts mentors.

We thank every person who has attended or supported the Watershed this year, and look forward to welcoming you back in 2024 for another creative and inspiring year.

We are thrilled to host David Hyams & Rose Parker Trio, direct from the Cygnet Folk Festival live at the Watershed.

David Hyams, a producer, singer-songwriter, and guitarist, is touring his fourth album that blends acoustic finger-style, bluesy electric, and country guitar. His ensemble includes Roy Martinez (Bass), Rose Parker (guitar, vocals), and Charlie McCarthy (fiddle).

Some images from our Spring Foraged Feast on Saturday night - what a beautiful evening of discussion, connection, music, and of course - innovative and delicious seasonal food!

Enormous thanks to our incredible chef Isabel for preparing the food, to Bonetto and Mann for guiding fascinating discussions, to The Stranded Wailers for filling the room with song, and of course - to our energetic, enthusiastic and professional group of youth program participants, without whom the evening would not have run.
