Aruba Kala provides customers with the authentic and traditional fried bean snack known as “Kala”. It is made from peeled black-eyed peas that are fried until crispy and golden brown. The method of preparation and cooking have been in our family for generations and passed down over the years. We take great pride in preserving this recipe as part of our history and culture as well as maintaing the
highest quality possible. Many of our elders grew up eating this delicious snack, however it is not a common or easy to find in Aruba, such as pastichi and croquette. The thing that sets Kala apart from other snacks is its superior nutritional value. It is one hundred percent vegan and gluten-free as well as being very high in protein and fiber, all while maintaining a great taste and texture. It has a variety of ways it can be eaten, including as an accompaniment to another dish as a side, as an appetizer, a breakfast or anytime snack. Kala goes great with beer, wine and will be a hit at any party or gathering! We also offer wholesale pricing if you would like to sell our Kala in your own store or food establishment. Please contact us if you would like more information or to place an order.
