রেবেকা শাফী।
এক সময় ঢাকার ধানমিন্ডতে থাকতেন। তার বাবা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নাম করা অধ্যাপক আর মা অধ্যাপিকা। রেবেকা এখন জেনেটিকস নিয়ে পোস্ট ডকটরাল রিসার্চ করছেন হার্ভার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে।

১৯৯৩-৯৪ সালে স্কুলের একটি বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতার ফাইনালে বক্তব্য রাখে রেবেকা। তার ছোট বেলার সেই ভিডিও নিয়ে রীতিমত হৈচৈ পড়ে গেছে।
সেই ১৫ বছরের শফি এখন অনেক বড়।২৬ বছর আগের সেই ভিডিওটি ভাইরাল হওয়ার পর প্রশংসায় ভাসছেন রেবেকা শফি।

কে বলে মেয়েরা STEM field এ কাজ করতে পারে না, কে বলে বাংগালী মেয়েরা অন্য সবার চেয়ে কম!? অনেকে বলবেন ইনারা exceptional! হ্যা হতে পারে। কিন্তু মানুষ তো।
