A great afternoon at my friend's wee boys 1st birthday party 🎉 🥳

This was also my first birthday party themed messy play and it was so much fun!

It's definitely something I will start up again during the summer holidays ☀️

Today's sensory play tuff trays 🥰

So many hidden learning opportunities.

🖐👁Fine motor skill is the coordination of small muscles in movement with the eyes, hands and fingers.

- filling up the sand bucket/ moving diggers/ using pincers for spaghetti etc

↔️ Cause and effect- this kind of play helps children to learn that their actions can cause something to happen.

- lots of opportunities in water play filling cups, seeing how water reacts when you splash and make an object move by filling it with water. Etc

🗣Development of language and social skills.

- interacting with children of similar ages. Making noises of animals/vehicles whilst playing etc

Happy Friday!!!

I had a great morning down at the Washingbay Centre at a lovely mother and baby group.

The tuff trays provided opportunities for imaginative and role play. The fine motor skills also got a great workout 🖐

🎨1st birthday party, preschool/ primary school end of term fun?!
All trays can be adapted to suit a particular purpose.
