We love to see our couples in the press! Thank you for featuring Alex + John’s beautiful woodland wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate. We had a great design team that beautifully executed a weekend full of events. Our bride is a huge fan of UK textile designer, William Morris, and this was a huge source of inspiration for the entire weekend. From the photos, you would never know it poured all weekend. We loved John’s attitude about it all, “f*ck it in regard to the rain!” — our couple embraced the downpour and have cherished photos to remember those sweet moments. Truly a weekend we will remember!

The welcome dinner is a trend we have seen in the weekend-long wedding celebrations. A welcome party provides an opportunity for your guests, especially those who may not know each other well, to mingle and get acquainted in a more relaxed atmosphere. Helping to break the ice and create a more comfortable environment for everyone attending the wedding. A friendly, relaxed atmosphere with great music, a campfire, and s’mores makes for the best celebration.

Greek weddings are rich in tradition and are often elaborate celebrations that blend religious and cultural customs. We are always learning here at LME and we loved the meanings behind these milestone moments during Stephanie + Brandon’s Greek wedding celebration.

The Crowns (Stefana)
This is the focal point of the wedding ceremony. The crowns represent the glory and honour bestowed by God on them during the sacrament. The wedding crowns (Stefana) are connected by a ribbon, symbolizing the couple's unity and the presence of Christ, who blesses and joins them and establishes them as the King and Queen of their home, which they will rule with wisdom, justice, and integrity. The Koumbaro then steps behind the bride and groom and

Koumbaro or Koumbara
In the Greek Orthodox faith, being asked to be the Koumbaro or Koumbara is a great honor. The koumbaroi do not have to be Greek; however, they must be of the Christian Orthodox faith. The Koumbaro/a is the person who, among other things, exchanges the wedding couple's crowns three times during the ceremony. He or she must be a current member in good standing with the church.

Money Dance
In Greece's smaller villages, there is an old tradition of pinning money to the bride's dress at the reception during a special dance. In America, this custom is more of a money shower. When the couple dances near, the guests will toss money to help them settle into their new life.

My event planning career started with this extraordinary family planning their daughter’s wedding at the Plaza Hotel. The next daughter’s wedding at the Mandarin Oriental. A masquerade ball in Palm Beach, a 60th birthday luncheon at the Boathouse, a 64th birthday with a Beatle tribute band, and a 70th and 80th birthday at Carnegie Hall, complete with Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash impersonators.

Last month, Adrianne celebrated her 80th birthday with family and friends. Her favorite songs were sung by her husband and daughter (who is a jazz singer). A delicious lunch was served at Marjorelle, and each guest received a beautiful ancestry report, a sweet and fitting tribute to Adrianne's love for her family.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as everyone gathered to honor Adrianne's milestone birthday. The heartfelt speeches and wishes expressed by loved ones made the celebration even more touching.

I have so many amazing memories with this family; it’s an absolute pleasure to help create these beautiful moments. It makes my heart full, and the job worth it.

We love in the year of 2023 we are taking a more modern approach to wedding party attire. We love the choice of different outfits within the same color scheme or complimentary colors.

Another big trend in bridal party fashion this year is — sustainability. Choose dresses that can be worn again. A well-made, beautifully crafted outfit should be able to be worn again.

The classic black, bold hues, garden part and old Hollywood glam are some of the beautiful selections we are seeing this year.
