Valentine, for us, is always a reminder of the friendship behind this little business of ours. We took our first steps out in the open as Wilder on Valentine’s Day, now seven years ago. Time flies and boy did we collect a lot of lovely people, sights and experiences along the way!

Whatever Valentine means to you, if you’re looking for a sweet treat, we’ve got some things you might like. Forget the tulips and the roses: too early, exotic or not very natural at all. The real deal will be coming in the course of March…

But if you really want to give something floral, what about a beautiful book, a handmade paper flower, a little dried floral treat, a good pair of flower scissors, a flower poster or the promise of a floral season to come in the shape of a voucher or a packet of flower seeds?

Here for you from 12:00–18:30!

A paper companion for Bloesem, a new culinary oasis in town, where dishes, like our flowers, follow the cycle of the seasons and local produce is served with warmth and creativity. The restaurant is tiny but the experience is, so we’ve heard, quite magical.

Thanks for your trust .restaurant 🌸

‘In my life and work, nature and its cyclical processes and the ever returning seasons are an anchor, a point of reference, an inspiration. Sowing, growing, harvesting, resting.’

It’s something our business seems to share with Ruth van Haren Noman. The artist’s visual world, sometimes bright and bursting with life, then again silent and introspective, feels familiar to us too.

Two years after her exhibition ‘je ne sais quoi’, we welcome Ruth once again with something new and exciting. The book ‘the bear and the butterfly’ is published by Hopper and Fuchs and contains 44 pictures of watercolours gathered across one year, inspired by the cyclical nature of the seasons.

Next Saturday 08.02, Ruth will join us for the launch and an exhibition of original works. Copies of the book, signed and numbered, will be available at an exclusive launch price of €25. Afterwards they will be sold at €30.

Pop in between 10:00–17:00 and let the work enchant you!

While we look forward to the first fresh ones, here’s something we made with last year’s ranunculus in November.

In these matching dried wedding bouquets we used the prettiest stems of orange, red and pink, ranunculus but also marigolds, dahlia and strawflowers, and balanced the fire with the light playfulness of grasses.

Our paper flower workshop has led to many pretty results last year. With this three-hour concept, we mainly want to share the fun of exploring colour, shape and composition.

It’s been tried and tested numerous times by now: with just a few basic tricks and a generous choice of rainbow-coloured quality papers, you’re guaranteed to go home with a very personal and everlasting eye-catcher.

Ready for your paper adventure? We’ve added two new dates for February at wilderwilder.be (link in bio). Do you think this would be just the thing to do with your own group of (min. 6) relatives, friends or colleagues? We’re happy to dive into our agenda and arrange a private session for you. Get in touch via [email protected] or swing by for more info.

More (and different) workshops will follow in the course of the year!

Dear neighbour, if your discarded tree suddenly seemed to have lost its top in the morning, it was probably us!

Yesterday evening we had a good time collecting tree tops around the hood, listening to Tine Colen’s generous storytelling, peeling and sawing and drilling until a new object emerged from an old Christmas tree.

If this looks like something you’d like to try for yourself, we’ve added an extra workshop evening with Tine Colen on our webshop. Get your ticket now and join us on Sunday evening 26.10, from 19:00–21:00. Link in bio!

What becomes of the Christmas tree, now the festivities are over? Old traditions and tales unveil a world of possibilities. We’re diving into it this month with our guest artist and friend Tine Colen.

From 10.01, we’re very happy to welcome her beautiful creations made from discarded Christmas trees in our store window. We will let the installation evolve naturally and share the tales and techniques behind it with you.

Are you curious for more?

Read Tine’s beautifully written project statement over on our Journal page (link in our bio). Or join our workshop on Sunday evening 12.01. We will head out to collect tree tops in the neighbourhood and turn them into new treasures that are both functional and precious. There’s only a few spots left so be quick!

Whisks will be for sale in store too.

Flowers and little beans sprouting, that’s pretty much how we spent our 2024. A year out of the ordinary, where new roles were explored and old tricks were further refined. A year where we spent less time together than usual, but more than ever appreciated each other’s support and the warmth of our crowd.

Thanks a million for visiting us, working with us, shopping with us, crafting with us in all those lovely workshop hours. And for choosing our wilder kind of flowers, time and again. It’s a choice that matters, not only to us. ♡

Plans are already sprouting for 2025, stay tuned!
