As many of you already know, Steve Albini passed away yesterday at the age of 61. We were left heartbroken with this news considering how big of an inspiration Steve was to us all. Beyond music, Steve was known for his outspokenness and staunch advocacy for independent artists and ethical business practices in the music industry. He remained committed to his principles throughout his career, never wavering in his dedication to artistic integrity. Also he was just a human being with a heart of gold who will be missed dearly.

Shellac's show at Desertfest Antwerp last year appeared to be their last one ever. We will hold this memory very dear and are forever grateful to have had Steve, Bob and Todd play at our festival. Our thoughts go to friends and family of Shellac.
