One of the questions we get asked a lot is: ‘How do I use hot sauce?’
I’ll list some of the ways we like to use hot sauce
- Use it like you would use ketchup or mayo. Put the bottle on the table and use it to spice up your plate. Use drops if you want to be careful or just pour it over your meal if you want to go all-in.
- Mix hot sauce into mayonnaise for a next level chili mayo
- Stir it into your salad dressing. It adds a lovely kick and depth to your salads
- Drizzle it over that boring sandwich you just bought and liven it up!
- Spread it over your sandwich.
- Use it on fatty foods. The acidity in hot sauce will cut trough the fat making it tastier and balanced.
- Marinade meat/tofu/veggies with hot sauce for a zingy extra.

Try hot sauce on every meal and see where you like it most. If you used too much, don’t worry, the heat always passes :)

Hi, one of our catch phrases is: ‘Welcome to your new healthy addiction’.

Why did we choose that one? Are peppers healthy? Are peppers addictive?

Are peppers healthy? Oh yes, chilli peppers contain vitamins A, B, C and E. Capsaicin (the main compound that is responsible for the heat in peppers) has anti-inflammatory effects, speeds up the metabolism and has positive influence on the cardio-vascular system.
Eating peppers regularly may even make you live longer. Lots of studies are going on today to unearth more about the effects spicy peppers have on our system.
Did you know capsaicin is used as a painkiller too?

Are peppers addictive? Yes… and no. Chili peppers don’t contain any addictive compounds. They do have an effect on the release of endorphins and dopamine. Capsaicin ignites our pain receptors. This pain respons triggers endorphins and dopamine to be released. These chemicals give us a buzz and keep us craving for more. You could compare it to a runners’ high, getting a tattoo or even bungee jumping.

At P&P we love to play with heat and flavor. And we think that once you get hooked, you will keep wanting more.

Are you going to this weekend?
Than you have a chance to get our latest sauce.

We love to do stuff of the cuff. Creating sauces or dishes with inspiration of the moment.
Therefore, when we got the offer by to use the peppers that were not eaten during the pepper eating competition at BCF, last May. We gladly accepted the peppers and made a sauces

The goal was to create a sauce that would showcase the heat of all the different peppers, taking you through the hot sauce competition in one bite.

Without Berlin and this sauce would not exist😘.
As a homage, we used flavors that, for us, represent the German streetfood/BBQ heritage.

The sauce will be available only BCF, this weekend. 122 bottles, that’s it.
Available at the entrance of the festival and at our stand.

For those interested in the peppers that are in the sauce: Shish*to, Green Serrano, Lemon Habanero, Orange Habanero,
Rawit, Red Habanero,
Red Chili, Brown Scorpion,
Naga, Carolina Reaper

Hi there!

We have updated our website. We added some stuff to the shop.

What did we add? Our selection of dried peppers and our selection of fresh peppers.

Our dried peppers are perfect for making your own chili flakes or powder. Or use them as a base for mole sauces. They range from mild, smokey to superhot.

Check out our fresh peppers for those of you who want to roast their own poblanos. Or who want to have a go at cooking up their own hot sauce. All of the peppers were grown in Belgium.

As it goes when change things, there might be some hiccups in the order process. Although we tested the process trough, if you experience issues please contact us and we will work it out.

And ask us any questions about the peppers we love to hear from you.

Enjoy! And eat those peppers 😉🤣😁😂

Are you in need of a caterer for an event or a party?

We like to share our love for food with you. And we make sure that you don’t have to worry about the cooking and can focus on your guests.

Last weekend we had a catering event, where we cooked our Fancy Farmer Food for a group of fantastic people. Turning simple ingredients into fantastic, tasty and fresh food.

While they were celebrating we prepared their festive meal.
Aperos with goods from the smoker, dips and veggies.
A main course with fig-leaf-wrapped seabass, slow cooked beef fillet with herbs, a green salad with cream dressing, a vibrant tomato salad with feta, some roasted herb oil potatoes, spiced croutons, sauces and some pickled stuff for balance. These were all put on the table at once for a family style meal. People passing bowls and plating up food for each other, connecting trough food. Just the way we like it.

We can do a surprise meal where we cook what is in season, off the cough. Or we plan the menu out together.

Yes! Temperatures are going up. The moment we were waiting for to get the pepper plants outside in the greenhouse.

At night we still put insulating fleece over them to help them out during the still cool nights.

Pic1 Primo Pepper that I’ve been selecting for the last years. A Capsicum chinense. Intense heat, fruity flavor and one of the prettiest pods in my opinion.
Pic2 Rocoto ‘Patrick’: named after the good souls that brought these seeds to us. Rocotos bring warming heat, a unique flavor and black seeds.
Pic3 Jamy Pepper: first time growing this one. It’s a baccatum type pepper. It’s everything I like about baccatums: crunchy, fruity, juicy, zesty. Perfect for pickling.
Pic4 The current situation in the greenhouse. In two weeks time it will look very different.

So far the season is going well. The plants could be bigger but there’s plenty of time for them to grow and blossom.

Today we picked up the first fresh peppers of the season.
Green poblano’s that will be pickled as a side for the customers at the food trailer.

The Fresno’s will need another week before they are proper ripe and will be used in a ferment.

I’m always amazed by the difference in growth and speed between a professional grower and our own way of growing.

Our plants are still tiny compared to these. Nonetheless, our ‘homegrown’ peppers will add more unique flavors to our stuff.

How is your pepper season going? Did you already start your pepper plants?
I repotted the first batch of peppers a few days ago. It’s mostly rocoto peppers and superhot peppers. The Queens of the pepper world that need more attention, more time to blossom into gorgeous, voluptuous and spicy plants 🫅🌶️🎋.

This is what I really like about my job at P&P 😎. Growing pepper plants.
From seed to sauce that’s what we try to do as much as we can. One day we will provide for all of our peppers.

Pic 1. The peppers before transplanting. They could have had another week. The root systems weren’t that developed on some of them.

Pic 2. Preparation makes it easier. A bit of soil in the pots so I can plant the peppers as deep as possible for more root growth from the stem.

Pic 3. They looked a bit sad right after repotting.

Pic 4. I watered them from the bottom up with lukewarm water. Thanks ikea for the trays

Pic 5. After 2 days they look like this. They responded really well. All perked up ready to start putting out new leaves and shoots very soon.

Pic 6. These will be transplanted in a week, maybe two weeks. The roots need more time to grow.

Pic 7. The Red Primo P&P selection. I selected this plant for its growth, flavour, heat and fruit size. So it may be far off from the original Primo pepper. But it is adapted to our needs and likings.

Pic 8. Yes, this is a pepper plant. A furry Rocoto pepper. I’m am so looking forward to you trying this pepper. The flavor and heat profile are so unique. It is one of my favorites. 🤤
