Born of the multicultural effervescence of the Brussels underground scene, Hishek Bishek Collective is made up of DJ Tirrred, DJ Ftoch, Shabba 3afifa and Monsieur 7awli. They (re) mix different musical traditions from the SWANA region, from reggae, dub and electronic music to jungle, chaabi and mahraganaat! Due to the actual political context, this shik shak shok will not be a party but a happening and a preparation for the next day's demonstration for 🇵🇸.

This special edition will proceed as follow:

From 7pm to 9pm:
Storytelling about Gaza & talks;
Open Mic (everyone is welcome to share, from Slam to Singing - 3 minutes per person).

From 9pm to 11pm:
- Screening of a short video portrait of palestinian activist Mariam Abu Daqqa, recently arrested by the french police;
- Screening of a short movie from Mohammed Al Majdalawi. Mohammed is a Palestinian refugee living in Sweden. The movie is about Palestinians living abroad and witnessing massacres of their beloved ones on their phone screens. Mohammed will be present at the screening and be part of a conversation after the screening;

- Free food;
- Music & Performance(s)
- Henné stand.

From 11pm to 1am:
Dabkeh dance;
Revolutionary music in homage to all the victims.

All evening long, there will be an atelier for posters and banners making for the next day's peaceful demonstration.

Entry will be free price for those who can’t afford it

As a group of artists today we cannot but stand in radical solidarity with our people In Gaza and in Palestine in general!

There is a genocide happening on our screens against people in Gaza where tons of tech savvy weapons are being dropped on all that is considered safe zones for civilians to hide while people in the west bank, are being terrorized by white gun-toting racist soldiers and settlers! All while we watch western media whitewashing Zionist Israeli war crimes and genocide.

Today more than ever, all people of colour, whether from Africa, the Middel-Eest, Asia, Latin America and those in diaspora need to unify the fronts and carry each other’s voices and be each other’s healers. We should all come forward for our Palestinian people because that is where our humanity lies!

Today more than ever we need the white voices to rise up in solidarity! Talk to your other white family members and other white friends and colleagues! Spread the right information. Use radical words. Refuse to denounce and refuse the 2 sides are equal propaganda. Challenge your media outlets on their whitewashing of zionist genocide on the people of Palestine! Push back against fascism! Go to therapy and deal with your white guilt!!!! Colonial genocide is being perpetuated in your name!!!!!

Power to our people and their right to defend themselves from their Zionist oppressor/coloniser with any means possible, including armed resistance!

It’s that time again! Time to celebrate our lovely community of colour in all its power, pain, resilience and beauty! In all its colours, forms, genders and sexualities! Celebrate each other in our collective and individual stories. All around music, food, performances & more.

Entrance Fee:
There will be 3 different payment possibilities. There is an entry fee, as we are neither funded nor going to the private sector because we want it to be special (!Cash only !):
- Free price for our struggling people. No questions asked.
- Recommended price of 8 euros to help us break even.
- Advised price of 10 euros to help us organise more of such parties

Drinks:
The bar will be managed by the Liaison Collective, a Georgian Q***r collective of musicians. Benefits will help construct their musical project.

What:
Shik Shak Shok is a party concept with the intent of being an intersectional safe space for People of Colour. All POC are welcome and especially those who need a safer space the most! Everything we do is with love, and with a priority for the women, the qu**rs, and the trans persons. Please be mindful of who you bring to the party and be conscious of your/their privileges as you might be taking space from those who need it the most. We want to make sure that those who can’t get safer fun easily elsewhere have enough space to enjoy their time here.

BPOC Femmes to the front! Save the space at the front and at the dj booth for the ones who rarely get it in other spaces!

IMPORTANT:
We will not tolerate any racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, femphobia, shaming or/and any other form of discrimination! We won’t tolerate any sexual violence of any kind and we will have a proper team ready to intervene in any way needed! Let us make this party a place of safety, care, love, tolerance, beauty, joy and celebration!
