Salut! Some questions you might have: What is Chez Malachy? Chez Malachy is a vegan pâtisserie business that operates from Malachy’s kitchen in Ixelles. Who is Malachy? Malachy (pronounced mal-ah-qui for you francophones) is an Irish guy living in Brussels, Belgium. He has been vegan for six years, has worked in kitchens for five years, and just really, really likes to make cakes. What do you make? Cakes, tarts, pies, entremets, brownies, cookies, desserts, novelty cakes, pastries, and more. My aim is to make indulgent treats that “don’t taste vegan”, so that means nothing “raw vegan”or sugar-free. Just pure cruelty-free indulgence. Where can I find your baked goods? For now, ordering through instagram, facebook or emailing [email protected] What size and flavour cakes are available? Standard tarts are 9.5'', standard cakes are 8'' with either 3 or 4 layers. Can be bigger or smaller on request. Flavours can be anything you like! Chocolate fudge, lemon & rosemary, raspberry & vanilla, pistachio, cardamom & blueberry, coffee & hazelnut, speculoos, kriek.. I have an allergy - can you cater to my sugar fix? As everything is vegan, naturally that means everything is also dairy-free and egg-free. Unfortunately, most of my bakes contain gluten, so are not suitable for people with a gluten allergy. Nut-free bakes are an option but everything is made in a kitchen where nuts and other allergens are handled, so please bear that in mind. If you have allergies, send me a message and we can discuss our options. Are custom orders welcomed? Definitely. In fact, bespoke cakes are my favourite thing to make. There is nothing too ludicrous and I love a challenge. Send on your ideas and let's see what we can make happen! So is everything actually vegan? Mais, oui ! As a vegan myself, I can guarantee that there are never any eggs, dairy, honey, gelatine, or anything of animal origin in my bakes. How do I order? Let me know when you need the cake for, how many people you hope to feed, and choose your flavours and I will get back to you with a price and confirm your order. Do you deliver or can I collect? Collection is available near Place Flagey. I can deliver small orders in Ixelles for free, otherwise there is a delivery fee. Thank you so much for the support!
