🍴 Highlights of Korean Culinary Classes: Hansik in March & April

We had an amazing time at our Korean Culinary Classes themed ‘K-Street Food’! 🍳
Thank you all for your incredible enthusiasm and energy! The passion for Korean cuisine truly lit up the kitchen 🙏🔥

👩‍🍳 Led by Chef Baik Sung-Hee, participants learned to make popular Korean street food favorites — Spicy Fried Chicken, Hotteok, and Tteokbokki. From ingredient preparation to plating and tasting, it was a hands-on, delicious experience! 🍽️

We hope these classes sparked even more interest in Korean food culture and inspired you to keep exploring K-cuisine ✨

Hanbok (한복) is the traditional clothing of Korea, known for its elegant lines and vibrant colors. 🇰🇷

Hanbok is now typically worn during special occasions like holidays and weddings. It is made from a variety of natural fabrics, including silk, cotton, and ramie, designed with a focus on comfort and freedom of movement. ✨

To wear it, start with the jeogori (upper garment), which fastens with a goreum (a single bow) at the front. For women, pair it with the chima (skirt), which is tied high at the waist, creating a full, flowing look. For men, the jeogori is worn with baji (pants) that are loose and comfortable. Complete the look with accessories like a norigae (charm) or a g*t (traditional hat) for men.

Korean Culinary Classes : Hansik 🍽️

Join our second part of Spring Korean Culinary Classes in May ! 🌺

The Korean Cultural Center is organizing Korean culinary classes themed around ‘Spring veggie plate’.🌱 We will feature two vegetable-based dishes : Namul (seasoned vegetables) Bibimbap 🍳 and Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables) 🌿. Chef Baik Sung-Hee, a Korean cuisine instructor, will lead the classes, sharing her knowledge and passion for Korean culinary culture.

Join us for a fun-filled Korean Tradition Day, the first event of our year-long K-Culture Playground series at the Korean Cultural Center Brussels! From trying on hanbok to playing traditional games, there’s something for everyone! 🎭🎨

📌 Here’s what you can look forward to:

🇰🇷 Step 1: Experience the beauty of hanbok! Hanbok for everyone is available, including for children!
📸 Step 2: Take a photo at the photo printing station!
🎲 Step 3: Compete in traditional Korean games like Tuho (arrow throwing), Gonggi (jacks), and Jegichagi (hacky sack)!
🎨 Step 4: Craft your own norigae, a beautiful Korean ornamental accessory!
