It’s a festival celebrating love – and the power of love to bring all good things into our lives. It is held in early spring and signifies new life, new growth, new beginnings. Holi, therefore, reminds us to color our life with love, faith, and a generous spirit. It calls us to give and receive. And best of all, it just great fun. We get lost in color, forget about our usual identity, and experience life – and each other – from a whole new perspective.

Kartika Sankalpa at Home: A Personal Commitment to Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha

This Kartika month is an opportunity to strengthen our spiritual practices from the comfort of our homes. Yesterday, we began by writing sankalpas (spiritual resolutions) to Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha. These are small, attainable steps, whether improving japa, reading Srila Prabhupada’s books, or doing something else that brings us closer to Krishna.

How You Can Participate from Home:

Daily Reflection on Your Sankalpa
Every morning or evening, take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your sankalpa. How is it going so far? Are you able to stay consistent? If it's too much, adjust it slightly—this is about sustainable growth, not pressure.

Create a Simple Sankalpa Journal
Keep a small notebook or use your phone to jot down your progress. Each day, note what you did to honor your sankalpa, how you felt, and any realizations that come during the month. This will keep you mindful and connected to your resolution.

Weekly Adjustments
After one week, revisit your sankalpa. If it has been easy to maintain, consider adding a small new step—perhaps increasing your japa rounds, reading an extra page from Srila Prabhupada’s books, or dedicating a few extra minutes to kirtan.

Offer Your Sankalpa to Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha
Each evening, after completing your sankalpa for the day, offer a simple prayer to Radha Gopinatha. Thank Them for giving you the opportunity to serve, and ask for Their blessings to continue with your sankalpa throughout the month.

Check In With Others
Although this is a personal commitment, it can help to share experiences. If you have a family member or friend who is also observing Kartika, check in with them regularly to encourage and support one another.

Our Story

WHAT IS HOLI? Lots of color. Everywhere. Although the festival is mainly held in Spring, we all live in Belgium and therefore what better thing to do then move it into the middle of Summer (End of July). See you all then and lets make this the Funnest Belgian Colour Party :)!!
