This festive season, our Compass Group Belgium team was delighted to spread a little extra Christmas cheer. Children from our schools lovingly coloured festive cards which our teams personally delivered to elderly residents in care centres.

These cards brought a moment of joy, connection, and warmth for these residents.

Our is about more than what’s on the plate; it’s about sharing kindness and making a difference. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this beautiful initiative possible. Together, we’ve brightened the holidays for so many. 🎅❤️

🌍 On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we at Compass Group Belgium are proud to support people in enjoying life’s simple pleasures.

Did you know that dysphagia - difficulty with chewing and swallowing - doesn’t just affect older adults with conditions like Parkinson’s or dementia? It also impacts 17% to 46% of individuals with metabolic disorders or intellectual disabilities.

That’s why our Medirest Belgium team is constantly innovating to help people rediscover the joy of eating, regain their appetite, and take steps towards greater independence.

💡A few years ago, we introduced the LimiMotion programme, designed to restore normality to mealtimes for individuals with disabilities. And now, we’ve gone a step further with MiMo bread; real bread enriched with high-quality proteins, blended and reshaped to make it easier to eat. Because everyone deserves to savour life. 💙

With around 2,000 of us, some thrill-seekers took on the roller coasters, while others enjoyed a relaxing boat ride through the jungle or strolled among giraffes, lemurs, lions, and tigers at Bellewaerde 🦁🦒.

A huge thank you to our amazing colleagues at Gourmet Invent for the delicious BBQ 🍔🍗🐟🥦! All of us at Compass Group Belgium had the best time with our families during Family Day, even with the sun peeking out at times 🌤️.

Summer may be over, but the excitement is just beginning! 🌞📚 As kids head back to school and employees return to the office, we’ve been busy giving five of our corporate restaurants a fresh, new look.

We’re thrilled to have launched brand-new dining spaces at FedEx and the Permanent Representation of Denmark to the EU this month. 🗓️

Meanwhile, the coffee bar at KBC Bank & Verzekering, and the restaurants BASF Antwerpen and Provincie Antwerpen have all received stylish makeovers. We can’t wait to continue serving delicious meals to our valued clients. 🍽️💼

Inmates cook their meals alongside our chef, giving them valuable experience in a professional kitchen and supporting their journey to reintegration.

Yesterday, we celebrated Chef Appreciation Day – a day when we get to shout out our amazing chefs who, day in and day out, wow us with their incredible passion. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

But here's the best part: on the big day, the Compass Group BELGIUM’s HQ team is stepping out from behind the desks and jumping into the action on-site! From whipping up sandwiches to stocking fridges, serving with a smile to scrubbing dishes, we're all in. 🥪🧼

It’s more than just a day of teamwork! It’s a day to learn from each other and build connections. HQ members helped in more than 100 locations in the Eurest, Medirest and Scolarest segments, including School of Brussels, de Waterloo, and Plaza.

📈 As claimed in a recent RTL info. report, inflation has led to an average 14% increase in prices in many corporate restaurants. This rise is mainly due to increasing personnel and food costs, as well as fixed charges.

At Compass Group Belgium we are committed to finding solutions that help manage these costs effectively, working closely with our clients to find the best way to cover these costs. We regularly discuss market and price developments with our clients, providing insights into the latest industry trends and highlighting, for example, food costs increases. Based on this information, we always seek the best financial solution in collaboration with our clients, taking into account the budget of the end user.

“We work closely with our clients to tailor our services accordingly,” says Fred De Deken. “In cases where costs significantly rise, we explore options such as adjusting service levels, reducing opening hours, or temporarily closing certain food corners.”

At Compass Group Belgium ensuring food safety is at the core of our operations. Across our Scolarest, Medirest, Eurest, and Sport & Leisure segments, our team of experts conducts rigorous hygiene audits, both internally and externally. We collect food and surface samples from all our kitchens, which are analysed in laboratories.

As we are committed to the continuous education of our kitchen staff, we regularly organise comprehensive training sessions on food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures. Our focus is on adhering to the latest standards set by the Voedselagentschap (FAVV).

In this way, Compass Group contributes to food-safe kitchens within al our restaurants.
