Merry Christmas from our kitchen to yours!

As we celebrate this season, we’re reminded of the rich traditions that make Bahamian food special.For example, the beloved dessert of The Bahamas guava duff—a dish that traces its roots to Scotland but was transformed here in the Bahamas by the ingenuity of enslaved Africans. Our ancestors took a simple suet pudding and with little resources, joy, and freedom, infused it with tropical guava and rum, creating a truly Bahamian treat that reflects resilience, creativity, and the blending of cultures. We celebrate these women and men before us and recognize that we - The Team at The New Duff - are torch bearers for all the grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and grandfathers who passed along thise scared recipe.

This Christmas, we celebrate the spirit of adaptation, the strength of history, and the joy that comes from sharing a meal together. Thank you for being a part of our journey. We’re grateful for your continued support and wish you a warm, festive holiday season!

Too often, we hurry past the opportunity to connect, to savor, to make memories. Take time today. Have an eight-hour lunch, sip a drink slowly, or cuddle up with some hot chocolate. Visit the grandparents you’ve been meaning to see. This season is about more than just the gifts. It's about the traditions, the time spent together, and making the present count, because it's all we really have. Don’t let it slip away unnoticed.
