SPECIAL FEATURES OF ORGANIZING EVENTS IN THE BALKAN REGION

When planning an event in the Balkans, it's important to take into account the following factors:

Firstly, changeable weather conditions.
The climate in Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia can be unpredictable. The weather can cause issues for outdoor events, events by the sea, and events that involve transfers, excursions, traveling along the sea coast or mountains.

Secondly, bureaucratic procedures. Some events in the region require additional permits, licenses and state approvals. It's important to consider these requirements well in advance to avoid any issues with the event itself and potential fines during its preparation.

Thirdly, transport connections. Transportation can be a challenge in certain areas of Montenegro, particularly during the high tourist season or inclement weather. Some places have very limited capacities of public transportation and taxi services.

Fourthly, the language barrier. In the Balkan countries people often speak their native language (Montenegrin, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian) and not all locals understand English.

Fifth, specific professional services. Despite the fact that tourism is actively developing in the Balkan region, some professional services still need to be found here. Difficulties may arise with technical contractors, site specifics, catering in cafes, restaurants, etc.

Second - when planning a route, it is important to consider that the same distance on water and land takes different amounts of time - water speeds are significantly slower in general, plus the routes by water might be tricky.

YOUR PERFECT CATERING EXPERIENCE - IS OUR CONCERN AS WELL

If your event is going to include a buffet, we have to warn you that there is a nuance to this in the Balkans. Usually "buffet catering" in this region means a large selection of starters, salads, hot dishes and even desserts - but no service. At all. The buffet format is less popular here, and is mostly used for private home parties. So normally when you order a buffet catering, they bring you lots of delicious food, wish you a pleasant appetite and... leave!
We work closely with the caterer at all stages of the event preparation, not only adjusting the menu, but developing the service offer - calculating the number of staff, jointly developing the logistics of the service, its format and timing. CORPORATE PARTY ON A SHIP It was a beautiful summer day in Montenegro. For this project, a whole ship was booked to spend the day enjoying the beautiful scenery and watching the sunset at sea. ORIGAMI Events International provided a fantastic entertainment programme for guests, both on board - drum circle, networking cocktail bar, all kinds of master classes; as well as fun activities on the water - SUP boards rides, swimming in the open sea and inflatable mattresses races. What is a holiday without good food? We ensured that the catering provided delicious and beautifully served food for all the guests in proper quantities (yes, people do eat more when on the water). The evening ended with dancing to a live band and an energetic DJ set at sunset. Sounds like the perfect Adriatic experience, doesn’t it?
