It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Robert (Bob) Bedard on Thursday, July 18th at this home in Acton. Bob is survived by his loving wife Evelyn and children Sydney and William.

A dedicated group of puts in countless hours & skills to deliver a quality product that is a traditional calendar, a monthly history lesson, and provides business exposure to every household in Acton and surrounding area. The calendar is FREE for the recipients, with fundraiser revenue strictly generated through ad sales. This has been a tradition for decades and we are pleased to announce 2025 sales have been brisk. Thanks to everyone who has committed so far to our efforts and for supporting culture in our community. We appreciate you!

Because we are non-profit, Heritage Acton’s rental revenues return directly to the preservation and maintenance of Acton Town Hall Centre. Willow Hall, complete with soundstage, professional lighting and gorgeous velvet curtains does not disappoint. Up to 194 spectators can be seated theatre style, or approx. 115 seated at tables. 8 hour rentals begin at just $340 plus insurance for Sunday through Thursday. Plenty of time for set up, take down and sound check 😀 Bar and kitchen privileges included.

In 1988, Acton Town Hall Centre became the first designated historic building in Halton Hills. That very nearly didn't happen, as it was designated for destruction in 1982. How? The efforts of volunteers. Their legacy as Heritage Acton lives on in every community and family celebration in the Hall to this day. Join us as we continue on as THEY did. Willow Hall can be decked out in so many ways. One of the frequently asked questions we receive is do we rent tablecloths and chair covers. We don’t, but for good reason. First, we run solely on volunteers and most of us don’t own industrial washers 🙃 Also, there are so many caterers and other specialists in this area. We’ve seen some creative bridal parties come up with amazing set ups by browsing Pinterest and creating their own DIY. Our rentals are reasonably priced to leave room for the details, whatever the budget. Find out more at www.actontownhallcentre.ca

We are looking for individuals who can provide their time and talents to producing our 2025 Historic Acton Calendar. Each year thousands of residents anticipate this publication in their mailboxes! We generate funds to assist with maintaining our big beautiful hall through advertising sales from local business that appear on pages in the calendar.
We’re currently seeking 2 individuals for the following positions:
Advertising Co-ordinator, Historic Calendar, &
Chair of Historical Calendar Production.

April 13 Work Bee at Acton Town Hall Centre 🐝 Deep cleaning, painting, window washing, chair and table maintenance - all done by Heritage Acton Volunteers! Lotsa work, lotsa connection, lotsa laughs, lotsa souvlaki 🥗 In addition to regular maintenance cleaning, we schedule Work Bees 3-4 times per year to keep the Hall functioning and looking beautiful!
