Today hubby & I are off to the Rose Garden at UBC to deliver floral beauty for Jaime & Harry's wedding. They are such a sweet couple and I'm so looking forward to greeting them with their flowers. The colour palette for this occasion is white/ivory with shades of lavender & purple. So pretty! Keep a look out for photos.

This past Saturday, as wedding guests were gathering together, I had the pleasure of greeting Joel & Jasmin to present them with their flowers, as well as friends & family with their boutonnieres and corsages. It was also a bit of a blast from the past with the attendance of three other brides (2 of them are Joel's sisters) and their spouses whom I had done flowers for since 2017.

The bride looked radiant, even though she wasn't in her dress yet when we arrived. So I'm eagerly awaiting pictures and expect they will be fabulous. Especially the bride with her stunning bouquet which turned out magnificently, if I say so myself.

From my first meeting with Joel and Jasmin in consult, and through the planning leading up to their grand occasion, it's been delightful.
Congrats to them on tying the knot, and wishes for much happiness in the years ahead. 🌹💝🌹

In less than an hour, hubby & will be heading to a private residence in Mission to deliver a whole lotta pretty. The color palette for Joel & Jasmin's celebration include stunning shades of red, as well as white and green. I can hardly wait for Jasmin to see her ravishing bouquet. I've actually done flowers for Joel's two sisters when they married. It's such a pleasure to serve this family again.

It was just recently, on July 6th, when Karen & Steve spoke their wedding vows on a spectacular sun kissed beach at a private residence on Salt Spring Island. I would have loved to deliver the flowers there, but it wasn't meant to be and I'm having to settle for pictures from that magical day. The images here are just some sneak peeks, but I'm anticipating more!

Due to the logistics, plans were made for a friend of the bride to pick up all the flowers from my studio the day before the wedding for the trip to the island. I sent them off that morning feeling quite confident that all were in very capable hands.
It just so happens that this friend was a former bride whose wedding flowers I had designed last year. I love the spin offs & am always so appreciative for recommends from past clients to others. Especially when they've all been such a pleasure and delight to serve.

I hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful Summer Sunday. We're toasty warm here in the 'Grove' with temps expected to climb a bit higher over the next couple days. So I plan to lay low & take it easy.

But I digress. About the video I posted several days ago of all the lovelies in my studio waiting to be arranged for Deanna & Troy's wedding last Saturday. Well, here are the results, along with several bonus images I get to share from the very gifted photographer's captures of that magical day. And, wow, they are awesome!!! Of course it helps when the bride and groom look amazing and the setting is gorgeous.

It was my pleasure to meet the couple in person for the first time and present Deanna with her bouquet which complimented her beauty perfectly!

I felt very honored when I was asked to make an arrangement for this lovely lady's celebration of life a couple weeks ago. Mikki's family and friends gathered together to give tribute to her, and that time of reminiscing brought many tears and much laughter. She was quite a character with an unmistakable sense of humor. She also spoke her mind unabashedly and you knew where she stood. But she loved and cared with a deep passion! Another of her traits that stood out was how classy she was, both in her appearance and with her decorating skills which, of course, was her successful career.

Even though we were not related, she endeared herself to me through the friendships of two of her nieces and her sons. She was always 'Aunt' Mikki to me and she called me Barbie Doll which was really special and I loved it!
Mikki is remembered with much fondness and will be missed by many! 💟🌸🌸💟

UPDATE TO THIS POST: A cake decorator I know commented that this image is AI generated. And shame on me for thinking it was real. But some fakes are very good. Obviously! So pardon me if I do goof once in a while. I will leave the post because that is an incredibly gorgeous production, all be it fake.
Now I know that such a stunning cake like this CAN be created by human creativity & effort. Those are the truly post worthy photos!

Truth be told, I'm becoming more irritated with how deceptive AI is. And I'll call out some phony baloney (after some quick investigating to be sure) that I see posted. In groups especially. And it seems that admins don't seem to care about not keeping their site 'real'.

Sadly there are the gullible who can't recognize even the most obvious fakes. Certain plants or flowers, for example, that they believe actually exist and are wishing they could acquire for their yard. Makes me cringe. Of course it goes beyond that in some cases, but that's another topic.
It's not like me to rant on this page, but today I couldn't resist.

Since I'm on a role with 2023 weddings, here's one more from that month of May. The 5th one for me.
The honored couple for whom these beauties were designed, was Sybil & Peter. The ceremony was at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Langley which is where I flowered up everyone on that sun kissed afternoon.
Sybil and I planned her flowers by way of an initial phone consult and then emails. But I did have the pleasure of meeting her briefly before wedding day when she came by to drop off the flower girl baskets. Then to see her again on her big day was delightful. It always amazes me how different a woman can look when she's a bride. That was Sybil. She was so radiant.

Also in May of 2023, I had the honor to create these gorgeous arrangements for Katerina & Nick's wedding that took place at a marvelous venue in Chilliwack. The surrounding area is very picturesque as evidenced by the images of the couple and their party on that glorious day.
I had the privilege to bring Katerina's floral vision to life and her bouquet became one of my personal favorites to design. I was in love with it's romantic charm. And the fragrance? Oh my!!! I could hardly wait to deliver the bouquet and witness the bride's reaction when she received it. And, of course, she loved it too!

🩵🤍🩵 This oh so pretty set of arrangements in shades of white and pastel blue was created for Emalie and Cuba's May wedding. The weather was spot on for the festivities and, going by the fabulous captures of the day, it was fun, magical, and all round wonderful. Emalie's easy going personality made planning her flowers a breeze. And the added pleasure for me was to also serve the groom's family as I have for other occasions I've been asked to design for

🩷🌸🌸 🩷 The display from my peony bushes this year has been spectacular! One hadn't bloomed at all for the last couple or three years since I planted it. But this year it exploded with vibrant fuchsia colour. There has also been an amazing fragrance that lingers in the air.
The blooms have made many bees very happy on whichever sunny days we've had. And then the rains came. Today was especially brutal and my poor babies really took a beating. Some stems were breaking from the weight of the large water logged blooms. So out I went on a rescue mission.
I'm delighted that there are still a fair number of buds to open and I will savor this exquisiteness for as long as it lasts. 🌸🩷

May 2023 was a busy month for weddings and to start off that run of events was Kaitlyn & Erik's sweet day at Willow Garden Farm, the perfect country garden setting for their ceremony & reception.
Regrettably, I didn't have the privilege to deliver the flowers and greet the couple that day. But all the pretty left my studio in the very capable hands of their friend, along with my message of best wishes & congrats to them on their wonderfully sun kissed occasion.
Kaitlyn obliged my request for photos of their day with the flowers in action. I even received a bonus with the announcement of a precious addition to their home since they tied the knot last Spring.
