Larry Dewayne Spencer, 80 years old, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Garland Texas, sadly passed away on March 14th, 2022, in Saskatchewan. Larry is dearly loved by many and will be forever missed.

A word from Calvary Baptist Church in Moose Jaw.

MAUNDY THURSDAY. In Holy Week, the week that changed the world, today is Maundy Thursday. The word maundy comes from the latin vulgate bible translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek by Jerome in a cave beneath the church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. It is the oldest church in Israel. Maundy means in English mandate or command. The phrase is from John 13:34-35 and is MANDATUM NOVUM or in English "new commandment" with the words reversed in translation. So what is the new commandment of Jesus? Here it is:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” - The Lord Jesus Christ.
Maundy Thursday is also the day the Lord Jesus celebrated the Lord's Supper with his disciples. May we rejoice that we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins and have entered into a new community where Jesus is Lord.
