The Ayr Farmers Market wrapped up for the season last Saturday!
Well this one was certainly an interesting year! The market suffered some setbacks at the start of the season with the loss of our produce vendor. But we were very lucky to find who joined us in week 6. They are a lovely family run farm with beautiful quality produce and I am so thankful to have had them be a part of the market!
Unlike season 1 where we had 20 weeks of sunshine, we also had some heavier rains this year, one full rain date where we were forced to close AND A TORNADO!!
Attendance overall this year was not stellar, we lost some food trucks and it also impacted vendor attendance, but I know it was a difficult year for everyone and we will persevere and continue on!
A big shoutout to all our regulars who supported us week after week, we saw you, love you and appreciate you! Thank you so much for EVERYONE who made the effort to come to the market when they could.
My goal is to have a full vendor list up on our website, www.heretotheremarketevents.com as well as our social media pages early next week. So you can still get in touch with some of your favourite vendors over the winter.
Thank you to our amazing event sponsors, , MacNeil & Dodd Pharmacy and . Your generosity and support help not only the Ayr Farmers Market but the Brisk Ayr Market and Spring Ayr Market succeed each year!
Special thank you to and who sponsored a very large portion of the market entertainers. You help bring the soul to the markets!
And of course, thank you very much to the Township for their support and invaluable help each season. We do not have a brick and mortar location to call home, so without their generous grant to close the road and access the ACC building the market would just be a dream.
I have already started planning for next season! I'll keep everyone posted on updates over the winter. Hopefully we will see a lot of our vendors/food trucks/entertainers from pervious seasons return as well as some new faces. I know I am not alone in saying I love growing friendships with them and seeing their products which showcase all their hard work and dedication to their businesses!
If you made it this far, what is your favourite part of the market?
Mine would have to be the great connections I make with so many different people. Oh and the young vendors and entertainers! I love that the market can give them a space to try things out!
See you in May!
