Why am I not doing more family documentary sessions?! They are so much fun and if it takes place on a farm, even better! Back in October I had the pleasure of photographing Glenn and Megan and their adorable twin girls at their farmstead. Lots of pecking and honking, and a few cow patties to avoid, but all worth it. 🐔 🪿🐮

It has been a while! A client asked me recently if I still have my photography/videography business so I thought it was a sign to make a post. 😆 I am still photographing weddings, events and portraits, but my focus has been shifting more into the world of videography -- and I love it! I'll be posting more of my highlight videos in the near future. ❤

My last wedding of the year before heading into 2024 was at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory with beautiful Hilary and Dwight. I'm so fortunate to have clients that trust me to document such an important day, and to capture those special moments as they unfold. I love the moment of joy that Hilary shared with her grandmother during the reception. -- the facial expressions are priceless. Congratulations, Hilary and Dwight!

I love it when couples include their furry family members in their weddings! Moo and Una were very much a part of Jordan and Connell's beautiful wedding last week. They were so well behaved and adorable in their wedding accoutrements. Jordan and Connell were married in front of family and friends on a country estate in Guelph, owned by Jordan's grandparents. It was a delightful day filled with love, laughter, games and chasing sticks ;) Congratulations, Jordan and Connell! 🥰

If you know me, you know that I love movies, especially from the golden age of film. When Charlotte and Michael asked me to photograph their wedding at the Princess Cinemas in downtown Waterloo, I literally let out a little squeal 🤩 The setting was perfect, and Charlotte looked amazing in her 1930s inspired dress and hat. It rained all day, but that didn't stop us from walking down the street, umbrellas in hand, stopping off at the local comic book shop for a few photos and then to the heritage Huether Hotel across the street for the reception. Thank you, Charlotte and Michael for asking me to document your unique and awesome wedding. Congratulations! 📽🥰

Alyse couldn't settle for just any old engagement proposal for her partner, Danelle -- it had to be perfect. Alyse did not disappoint! Flying her partner to Niagara Falls from Tampa Bay, Alyse planned a video and photo shoot, complete with roses, champagne, Gucci boots and a whole new wardrobe even before getting on one knee. It was my honour to film this special time in their lives alongside Ally from Ally Allison Photography. Here is a little sneak peek from the pre-proposal part of their day. ❤️

I had so much fun filming Adam & Celina's autumn wedding at the Exeter-Golf Club alongside Erin from Woodgate Photography. Although Adam's favourite musical genre is rock, he graciously agreed to have country music for the highlight film just for Celina. 😍 (If you wait until the end of the highlight, I did manage to sneak in a bit of rock for Adam. 🎸) It was a great day full of fun and surprises, and I'm so grateful I could be a part of it! I first met Craig and Carrie in Kitchener last year when Craig got down on one knee and proposed in front of their favourite coffee shop. Carrie said "yes" of course and seven months later I had the privilege of photographing the happy couple as they said their vows at the historic Elora Mill Hotel & Spa. What a beautiful day for a beautiful couple! Congratulations, Craig and Carrie! 🥰

This past fall I had the opportunity to photograph Dannie and Megan's intimate wedding at Megan's childhood home in Melancthon, Ontario on behalf of Fedora Media. It was a perfect day filled with beautiful moments. Congratulations to Dannie and Megan! 🥰

Happy New Year! It was a year that saw many changes in the wedding industry as the number of guests increased at venues and travel restrictions were lifted for some. It was a challenge at times but love prevailed and I was blessed to document so many lovely couples and their families this year - it was my busiest year yet!

I travelled as far south as Sarnia and north of Lion's Head. There were a few Scottish weddings complete with bagpipes and tartans, a medieval themed wedding that included swords crafted by the groom himself, a bride arriving to the ceremony in a classic red firetruck, a pumpkin head and ghost engagement, and lots of furry family members in tuxedos and bows. The best part for me was seeing all the hugs and smiling faces. Despite the challenges earlier on, 2022 was an awesome year.

2023 is already shaping up to be a busy year as well and I'm very thankful to continue what I love to do. Many best wishes for a wonderful new year! 🥳❤️

Happy snowy Tuesday!
I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would show a few of my favourite moments captured this year. I'm happy to announce that the black and white photo of "the bride hug" won a gold medal with the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA)!

To receive a gold medal with the WPJA, all 4 judges must select the winning image as worthy of an award. Judges for this round included Jeanie Adams-Smith; Justin Merriman; Emmy award-winner, Jim Gehrz and Pulitzer Prize winner, Martha Rial.

When Cheylan and Rachele sent me some ideas for their fall engagement session, my first response was, "OMG, YES!" We did some traditional engagement poses, but the best part was photographing this fun couple in costume. I love it when couples have a vision and make suggestions. ❤️ I'm really looking forward to photographing Cheylan and Rachele's wedding next year!!

Photographing the reception is always a favourite of mine -- lots of great moments to capture. The lighting can be a challenge, so it is important to have the right equipment and know how to use it. I took these photos at Dan and Rachel's reception at Craigowan Golf Club in Woodstock. These two were SO much fun to photograph -- I enjoyed every minute documenting their day. ❤️

Rob and Liz waited 730 days to have their beautiful and intimate backyard wedding reception. It was wonderful to see everyone dancing, singing, and celebrating together, and so grateful to document both the ceremony and the reception for Rob and Liz! Congratulations!! ❤️

A fews weeks ago I had the honour of documenting the first day of school for my friend's daughter. From the moment she woke up to the ring of the school bell, I was there to capture every little moment along the way. Many of you may not know that I also offer video services for weddings and events. In fact, many of my inquiries this year are for wedding highlight videos. I just love crafting the clips into a short film to tell a story. Here is a highlight video I did for Christopher and Jessica at the Westmount Golf & Country Club. She said, yes! I was undercover photo agent this past week to capture a very special moment in Craig and Carrie's lives. Even though the hiding spots were at a minimum near Show & Tell Coffee in Kitchener, I managed to hide my camera behind the street pole and tried to look as unassuming as I could. Once I saw Craig kneeling, the big 135mm came out and I snapped away. I love the little girl in the window gazing upon the newly engaged couple - so sweet! Congratulations to Craig and Carrie! ❤️ 💍
