* I met my husband in elementary school, but we didn't start dating until I was in grade 11. We've been together 14 years, married for 6π
* I'm a full-time high school teacher (Drama, English, Family Studies, Special Education... you name it!)π

* I have an obsession with Paris and I love to travel. Covid and young kids have impacted us in that department, but I can't wait for our next adventure! π

If you were wondering what your wedding photos might look like with one of our preferred vendors, Chelsea, from Harris Photography hereβs a little sample.
Her goal is to take your day and freeze it into a collection of candid and emotion filled snapshots.
She will scale trees, wade through the lake, hang on the side of a bridge or balance the side of a hill to get the right frame.

A small guest list doesn't have to mean a small wedding; in fact, it can leave a lot of room in the budget for other areas. This DIY wedding on the property Tanya grew up on made their day sentimental, personal, and incredibly intimate.π

Everything was planned meticulously down to the last detail. The greenery, black, and gold decor, the lawn games, the self serve bar, and the totally customized dessert assortment (did we mention the bride also makes and sells her own baked goods!?) was executed flawlessly. π

When we had our consultation with Siarra she told us that she was the first of her friends to get married and that she'd never been to a wedding before. It's hard to believe when she designed the most perfect day and decor! What a beautiful set up, from the mismatched antique chairs to the elegant photo booth area and delicious s'more table.
Not everyone needs an event coordinator to plan all the small details of their wedding, sometimes all they need is someone there to make sure the day goes off without a hitch. That's where day of coordination comes in. Our goal is to make sure the couple enjoys their day and doesn't know about any little bumps along the way.

With Covid causing so much unpredictability over these past 16 months, our clients have been impacted pretty significantly. We had a lot of couples decide to postpone, so having our first wedding of 2021 felt GREAT! β

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding to kick off the season! Siarra and Cole were such a down-to-earth couple, and their venue was a total dream. Using a family property to create your own DIY wedding is definitely an option and this couple NAILED it!

~β’β’ 3 days of Wishmas β’β’~
Day 3: getting those precious holiday photos
A picture says a thousand words and after this year we need all the happy, positive and encouraging words we can get!!
If youβre like me you have camera/phone at the ready during the holidays, but not all of the pictures you want to get work out.
I have a few tips and tricks that I use when taking my holiday pictures (of family and fur kids).
- if you are shooting a group picture try and keep everyone in a single line, this will ensure that everyone is on the same level and increase the likelihood that everyone is in focus
- Try to take pictures with lots of natural light, if itβs snowing outside an impromptu snowball fight is fun and makes for great pictures
- Have fun! Donβt focus on getting the perfect shot. Most of my favourite pictures are candid ones Iβve taken when my family is playing games or just socializing
- if you want a picture of your fur babies set up an area that the like to lay,sleep, hangout in so they arenβt nervous. Make it fun, if you have a second person have them in charge of treats and positioning so you can snap away *a burst shutter works the best*
These are just a few basic tips. Most importantly just enjoy yourself and the time with family π

DAY 1: How to have an intimate holiday, covid style.
There is no denying this year looks different, so how to make the best of it? Here are some ideas!
If there has ever been a year to go all out, this is the year! You have less people so you can invest in all the fun decor additions, craft something personalized for each family member, and start a new tradition. Maybe come up with a new game, a gratitude circle, build a fort and get cozy, anything is possible!
Instead of hustling to go to different places, or preparing for Aunt Suzy to come stay for 6 nights, you are at home and have more time to soak up the holidays and actually get that well deserved rest you need. This is the year you can slow down, relax, and sip your eggnog.
This is the year to make things more intimate at home, but also, the extra time gives you the opportunity to be creative. Drop off some gifts to strangers, write letters to residents in nursing homes, surprise a friend with something unexpected, get creative!
While it is a tough time, remember:
1) This too shall pass
2) You can actually relax this holiday!
3) Save some money and put it aside for something to look forward to when covid is under control
4) Make time for your immediate family and loved ones. There is never enough time, and having these days off to spend quality time truly is a blessing in disguise.
5) Live alone? No problem! We are so fortunate to live in a time with technology. Dress up with family members and join holiday dinner. Plan ahead and "exchange gifts" on Skype. Turn on your TV and press play on "Elf" at the same time.
The times are weird, but nothing is impossible. Make the most of this holiday season ππ
