Yup, that's my job!

Linda's kind words capture the heart and hustle that go into every wedding I craft.

For Megan and Joel, it was about weaving fun, laughter, and much love into their special day. And just like magic, every piece fell perfectly into place or did it?

Do things go wrong, sometimes, YES they do! Over the years I've learned to pivot, think quickly on my feet and not panic. I have resources and built friendships that are at my figure tips and I anticipate what could go wrong. Over the last 10 years I've learned some lessons. I can't be everywhere at once and if you think I am that's only because of the great team I've put together.

For Megan and Joel's wedding no one knew any different that we were missing plates. When the caterers approached me to say some where chipped and couldn't serve the head table with these, I quickly gathered all the "vendors" plates so the head table could be served, and yes I had paper plates in my emergency kit.

Garden weddings are one of my favorite places to say I do. Surrounded by nature's beauty, blooming flowers and natural symphony of birdsongs. It's the perfect backdrop.

The UofA Botanic Garden is not only an oasis just outside the city, they offer multiple places to say I do and endless sites for beautiful photos. The have top notch and helpful staff. 16 years married today. The imperfect truth.

I know I've been mia lately and it's not a secret I'm not a fan of social media. I find it really hard to let you all in to my personal life, nevermind my married life. We are not the couple that everything is perfect nor have I ever wanted to portray myself that way. It's hard to go against the norm, stepping out of your comfort zone and showing your imperfections.

2023 wasn't our year. When we fight, it's not guns a blazing, it's more deadly silence. Regardless, none of it was healthy for our relationship.

If you are the couple that has the perfect marriage it relationship , good for you. I want to believe that's not normal and I maybe wrong.

If you are one of those couples that argue, remember your vows. Remember why you married each other. Be kind not only to your spouse but to yourself. Be forgiving. Cody and I have a strong foundation in our faith, we believe God brought us together and He is what brought us through our challenges. Over this last year we've learned to better communicate and listen to listen NOT to respond. That has been the biggest challenge for me. I'm apparently very opinionated. 🙄

There's never been a moment we've wanted to give up. There's no one else I'd rather argue with, cuddle with, be intimate with. He has and always be my best friend, a great father and my husband. I'm a true believer in love.

Your wedding day is the beginning of a marriage. Today I'm celebrating 16 years, I'm celebrating our imperfections, I'm celebrating all our accomplishment, even the ones that are left to be finished, failed or haven't started.

Feeling blessed this Sunday.
This weekend we got to be part of Amber and Chris's wedding. I got to check off a few things from my wedding bucket list.
The team was amazing and the wedding was WOW. From luxurious florals by , to an amazing venue .and.pond , laughs and great conversation with Beth .gracecreatives and seeing old friends . We all took part in making this day magical. I can't wait to share more. But I'm exhausted, 15,000+ steps, road trip with my bestie .noble, I'm going for a nap.

Do something different!

This is a first for me. When shared her idea with me, I said ok but needed some convincing.

Placing 150 chairs, in +25 degrees, inserted individual flowers into the growth ( Instagram moment I missed filming) in the middle of a field
= A whole lot of sweating. But it was all worth it. Can't wait to share the choreographed walk they did.

Eve and Boniface where a first for me. They planned a wedding here in Edmonton all the way from Toronto. They used my Month Of or also known as Day of, I was there for them through out the process. Making sure they where on track and not forgetting anything.
This was a first infused Nigerian wedding. Learning about different attire and culture was so much fun and such a blessing. I loved that they where both open to my many questions.

What do you get when you hire me? Someone that wants you to have the best day ever. My focus is to make sure all details are taken care of, all your vendors are on the same page and your vision comes to life.

How do I do that? By staying organized. I use programs that keep all the details and helps me create floorplans and designs.

The bling! Your rings. The one thing that has no beginning and no end. The forever promise you put on each other's finger.

Do you know why the ring goes on the left finger? It actually date back thousands of years. People believed that a vein, the vein of love, ran through the fourth finger of your left hand up to your 💓.

Here it is. The #2 must have detail shots to your wedding.

Your stationery is the first glimpse into your wedding and a great way to communicate with your guest. I get it, it's also an extra expense, not to mention lots of free dyi websites. If you are anything like me I love getting that envelope in the mail. I love getting that personalize invite, something I can hold onto and keep.

While designing your stationery we go through a few questions. What's your theme, what's your colors and what's your style just to name a few.
Than let's talk about what you need. Because it's not just about invites and thank you cards. If that's all you need great! But think about place cards, seating charts, signage, menus...... The list goes on.

Now let's figure out paper and fonts 😳🤪 don't worry that makes me a little crazy to. Toooooo many options.

Please remember to give your artist time. Make sure to have a detailed stationery timeline. Work together for less room for disappointments.

There are 5 kinds of detailed shot you should ask your photographer to capture. I'm not going to lie, it's also what your planner hopes and prays for.

Why ?

Because most of your energy and money is spent on details.

Did you question the color of your napkins? I know you did 🤣

How about the font of your stationery? Eventually, you looked at so many they start to look the same. 😳

MMM, the flavor of your cake? But it sure was good having those tasters. 🤪

There will be plenty of pictures documenting the day. I always suggest you give a list of must have pictures. Not just for family time but of the whole day. Make sure you ask to capture the details.

Hard to believe these two love birds got married two months ago already.

We've had an unbelievable year and have already started booking into 2023. We have 1 more wedding to go through this year. Fall being my favorite season. I wish more wedding where in fall. I wish I did more wedding during this season!

Now, I wait for links to pictures. Where I get to relive all these incredible moments again. Yes, I do check my emails often. Is it here yet?

Welcome October, my favorite month for so many reasons.
One of those reasons is it's my birthday month 😲. Can you guess how old I'm going to be?

I want to start a new trend!

Maybe it's already one, maybe it's a forgotten one. Regardless, I want to throw away the unplugged wedding.

I get it, you pay alot of money for a professional to capture your wedding day and you want your guest to be present not watching it through a phone. But hear me out.

Today, where you really there? Did it really happen? If you aren't sharing the s**t out of it on some form of social media? You spend the money on the signs, your officiant reminds everyone at the beginning of the ceremony but guess what? Your guest are still doing it.

People haven't seen each other in 2 years. They are at a wedding with real people and real conversations. Let them be a part of ALL the action.

Take a few minutes after you say I do, heck take the few minutes before, do it when ever you want. Take that time to say " ok, take your 📸 and your ☎️ out, this is your time take all the pictures that you want'

Make it part of your timeline and incorporate your guest even more on your wedding day.

Then... All phones in a basket cause your still paying someone else to do it. 😜

Your wedding stationery

It's your guest first peak into your wedding day so you want it to make a statement.

But before you start ordering save the date cards think about everything you'll need.

Make a checklist because it's more than just wedding invitations. Figure out your wording and proofread all the documents. Especially if you are doing this yourselves.

Make sure to have the proper postage to save on returns. If you ask your guest to RSVP and choose not to use a website, you'll have to include a stamped envelope with your return address already on it.

But once you said "I do" remember send thank you cards to your guest.

6 mistakes to avoid with your photographer.

Your photographer is one of top three vendors you should be booking. Especially one in high demand.

During your consultation ask them to see a full gallery. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Tell them what your expectations are. If you've chosen to hire them, then trust the process and let them do what they do best on your wedding day

During wedding season expect 6-12 weeks to get your photos. Why? Because their magic doesn't stop when they pack up their equipment. They spend hours going through hundreds of photos they took that day.

Photographers are your memory catchers.

What is different about this wedding season?

Everyone is ready to have a hell of a party, there is no doubt about that.
However, guest are enjoying sitting back and having conversations.
Two years some of my couples have been waiting to get married. Two years some families and friends have not been together.
To be a part of not just a wedding but family and friends reunion has been overwhelming. My heart is so full. I have met some of the most interesting people, heard incredible stories and got to know the guests like no other season.

This is so good, this feels so wonderful. God is good. The last 2 years was just s**t. But this, these experiences have been so worth it.

Emily's email showed up in my inbox and I do what most everyone does and creep their profile. Ya I'll admit it 😜

What I learned was they loved planes, boats, motorbikes and anything that goes fast. They where adventurous and had a love for life. My perfect clients. Our first conversation was like talking to old friends. I really tried to contain myself thinking I could go for a plane ride. This could have gone two ways. They could have thought I was completely crazy or we would vibe together. That's what we did. We vibed all the way to the altar.
This past year, working with them, was a blessing, so much fun and I loved that they completely trusted me to bring this day together for them.

I will forever remember this experience. Thank you for such a great review. I miss you both as well.

Here we are, a week later and I still can't find the words to sum up this wedding. Cards on the table, when I stop to think about it, I turn into a blubbering fool. I cry at every wedding but never when it's all over.
This is my first, full on planning, since Covid. Let's be honest, I'm horrible to begin with when it come to social media, never mind with no new content. I knew this was the wedding that was going to put me back on the map. What I didn't know it would do was fill my heart beyond full of everything. Ok here come the tears.

Past 2 years have been hard. Not going to lie. When everything was said and done and it was time to say goodbye I just couldn't do it. This couple, their friends and their family , I needed them more than they ever needed me.

I received more than 100 hugs that week, and complements that should make my head explode. I belly laughed so much it made me forget how much my feet hurt. I had touching conversations with MOB of our lost. I listened to stories about the couple from their friends. There where SO many first for me. Seriously who gets picked up by a personal plane? Brett I'll be telling my grandchildren of this adventure.

Not only are these two beautiful on the outside they are more than extraordinary on the inside. The way they look at each other.... YA they are into each other 😉. These two where meant to be together.
