We finished! What an amazing time and what a great experience! What a beautiful space to exhibit in, Assiniboine Park & Zoo The Leaf is well worth the visit if you get a chance. And thank you you to Fleurs de Villes inviting us to this exhibit.

Thanks to everyone for your support and for coming out and seeing our display. We are just so pleased that so many people encouraged us and supported us through this. It was an honour to take part in this event.

Today we have been invited to The Leaf to have a meet and greet with the public! "Meet the Florist". We are very excited to talk about our exhibit and it has been amazing to hear what people have to say about it. We have been very encouraged and complimented for our work.

In the exhibit you will see the head piece is a caribou (on the 25 cent coin), the Bluenose Schooner (on the dime) is flowing out of her dress on her right side, the polar bear (on the toonie) is on her left and hidden on the left side you will find a little beaver (on the nickel)

We call our piece: Embodied Currency
��Money exists as a form of energy exchange between human beings. The mannequin represents humanity-specifically people who live in Canada, and will embody elements of our energy exchange system through visual metaphor. Without the human figure, the coins have no value. Humans, desiring to exchange (x-change…) our currents of energy have created beautiful physical objects to convey values. It is fitting that the mannequin embody the symbols of our currency, since we cannot separate the individual from the existence of money. Rather, money exists because we exist.��The boat is a powerful metaphor for the “currency” and the “flow” of money. We will have the sails make up part of the dress, and smaller boat images flowing down the dress.

We just wanted to thank everyone who helped us get this together! Lori and Jeff Sobetski from the Polaris dealership in Beausejour. They lent us their truck and trailer to get our mannequin and all the working bits to the leaf last night. Dean drove for us, thank goodness cause I had no idea how to drive the big rig. Kaitlyn help us with cutting up leaves to place on our coins. Mike was amazing and put together the base of our mannequin and the watering system, couldn’t have done that without him. All the friendly faces at Petals West you were great to work with.
And Fleur de Ville for this amazing opportunity. We really appreciate being asked to participate.

We did it! She is finished. We’re so proud and we had so much fun doing this. I hope everyone gets a chance to come and check out the displays. They are absolutely stunning! Book your tickets to come and see us!

Just as a heads up, we understand that it’s kind of hard to bring tickets on the leaf website, but if you go to the Fleur de Ville  post that we’ve shared you can book your tickets through that.

The Final Touches Are Complete

The day is almost here! We’ve set everything up at the stunning Leaf in Assiniboine Park & Zoo Winnipeg, and our floral art piece, Embodied Currency, is ready to be unveiled as part of the incredible Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE .

This journey has been one of creativity, passion, and pride as we represent our small town of Beausejour on this grand stage. We are profoundly grateful to the Royal Canadian Mint for sponsoring our piece and for the chance to showcase the beauty of Canadian currency through live and preserved flowers.

Tomorrow, the event begins! We can’t wait to welcome you and share this amazing botanical celebration. Stay tuned for photos and, if you can, make the trip to experience the magic in person! 🌸
