Judy Van Rykevorsel played a Dusty Strings Crescendo- you may remember her as director of the Bell Choir and of music at St. James’ United in Dartmouth. We played with her a couple of times. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Gilbert, moved to Mahone Bay where she played her harp at local events and gatherings.
Today we celebrated Judy’s incredible life.

Our Story

This Harp Circle includes teachers, students, performers who love to get together. It was formed in 1997 by Cheryl Reid O'Hagan to give harpists an opportunity to play in enjoyable settings for fun and to learn more. Workshops are regular happenings. Keep up with our news.

Our big news this year is the inaugural NOVA SCOTIA HARP FESTIVAL Sept. 27 - 30 ! www.nsharp.ca Another step on the spiral staircase.

Our All Harps Rise Concert June1, 2018 was a big success and enabled us to launch our first festival in 2018. Teachers and students performed at the magical Cathedral of All Saints in Halifax, N.S.

In 2019, we put on Nova Scotia Harp Festival #2 on the weekend of Sept. 21, 22. On Saturday was an all day workshop day at the Halifax Central Library and on Sunday there was Harp Yoga at the AGNS, a Harp concert at the Ould Triangle and more classes.
