I am just slightly obsessed with this tablescape from the end of the night from a wedding last month. I don’t know who set it up like this - the couples’ photographer? A friend with an eye for documentary? Or was it a total accident? (Ok, unlikely.) But regardless, I feel like it perfectly encompasses everything a wedding should be at Venue 1906. The elegance of the decor, the realness of the half-eaten shared slice of cake, the party in the beer bottle and the champagne glass, and the tic-tacs.

Everything is beautiful, but we also party well.

Wait wait wait… was our last post actually more than 3 months ago?!? We’re still here, we promise!

(That said, we were just sitting on a beach in Mexico… if you emailed us and didn’t get a response yesterday or today, please reach out again!)

Our off-season has officially ended and soon, we’re swinging into the rhythm of planning meetings and vendor tours and - of course - weddings and we can’t wait!

We're still busily working our way through wedding season around here, so naturally we forgot to acknowledge our anniversary on September 25th. Whoopsie!

As our Assistant Venue Coordinator, Emily’s hit the ground running and already has two Venue 1906 weddings under her belt. Enthusiastic and keen to help however she can to make our clients’ events the best they can be, we’re definitely lucky to have her!

Also our new motto may need to be “your event will go so well, you’ll want to work here” 😉

You know our favourite thing? When our couples walk into our space and their jaws drop. Emily and Corey loved every stylish inch of our space just as much as we do. They used some of our favourite vendors (shoutout to Dahlia Thalia] and Jaclyn Roth]!) and pulled off their vision for a dramatic fall wedding with a touch of the spooky so perfectly.

I know we’ve been really quiet over here, but can we take a moment to talk about 2022? We can’t let the new year roll in without doing a little reminiscing and without a deeply heartfelt thank you.

This year has been beyond incredible. We hosted 14 weddings, 2 celebrations of lives, 3 styled shoots, 1 branding shoot, 3 vendor markets, 1 music video, 2 Christmas parties, 1 family session shoot, and 1 workshop, not to mention the weekly meetings of more than on community group. We are beyond grateful for each and every couple who choose to marry in the glow of our stained glass window and every vendor who partnered with us to make each and every event a success.

2023 is almost here and we can’t wait for more! More weddings, more parties, more styled shoots, more workshops, more community use of our space, more Christmas parties, more love, laughter, joy, connection, and commitment. Just, more.

A belated merry Christmas, and the most happy new year! Believe it or not, we have one more wedding later this week that we are so excited for, and then… see you in 2023!

That’s a wrap!

Last weekend, we hosted our last wedding of the peak season and what a season it was! We learned a lot through our first wedding season, grew our team, and watched 12 couples tie the knot and party the night away.

And it’s not even close to over! We are a year-round wedding venue. Can you imagine how our old red brick building will look in the snow? Next week we officially move into our off-season, which means slightly lower rates for our couples and lots of dates still available. Are you dreaming of a winter wedding or an early spring ceremony?
