I want to give a HUGE Shoutout to all those that stopped by yesterday to help us clear out 5 years of accumulated stuff that all has to go before our move. It was absolutely unbelievable and Gene and I are Incredibly Thankful beyond words!! Thank You all so very much!! The reality that we are moving is Real and we are now on the 21 day count down. A whole new chapter to get excited about. 🙏❤️👩‍🌾🤠

HUGE OPEN House tomorrow, Saturday Nov.11, everything goes, Bedroom sets, beds, side tables, Leather couches, kitchen everything but the sink!!! Garden plants and pots, linens, kayaks, coffee tables, patio tables and chair sets, bistro set, queen sized solid wood headboards, movie projector and screen to go with it!! And so much more. Heading to Nova Scotia in a few weeks, starting a whole new chapter. Stop on by and have a look. Everything has to go!! 😉

Wha a difference a day makes!! As we head into the next season of putting the gardens to bed for the winter. I like to w**d, clip and tidy and then topdress them with compost. It’s like covering them with a nice warm blanket and saying goodnight, see you in the spring. Spending a sunny day on the farm…… priceless!!

We have a bounty of baby squashes and pumpkins to decorate your festive table for Thanksgiving this up coming weekend. We are starting to dig up the dahlias and so tubers will be for sale and now is a good time to see the flowers in all their glory before they are all stored away for winter. Flower bouquets will be available while supplies last. It’s October already and Fall is in the air. I am incredibly Thankful for all the support from the local Community.

Black Creek, BC……yes we do live on the Island Highway BUT there are ALOT of moments when the traffic noise is almost none when you can hear nothing but the sound of the water fountain at the front door and the sounds of the birds chirping in the trees, and the chickens and the roosters and the turkeys next door!! The reminder that we do in fact live on a farm. And those peaceful Sunday mornings with the fresh country air! October 1st, where has this year gone??!!

The Corn, Sunflower, pumpkin patch!! Corn doesn’t like to be transplanted they said. Corn loves the heat they said. This year I listened to their advice!! After amending the soil with chicken manure, mushroom manure( K&T Rock Shop) and Coffee grounds (Royston Roasting coffee house), and waiting until the end of May to plant the seeds directly into the ground, there are seven rows of beautiful healthy looking plants growing this time round!! This makes me so happy! Farming with a Landscaping flair! At the Creekside!! A Little Getaway from the Everyday, Where Memories are Made!!

BC Cherries….. there are more than one variety, this type are a bit smaller than your average Bing cherry, BUT… this variety are sweet, purple and plump and we have plenty of them!!!
And it’s prime picking this week. Blueberries and Raspberries too!!
