The Greenhill Jam was started to end the drudgery of a life led without music, the jam was started by Cierra Shortreed only a while ago and whilst she started it she lit a spark that set a little fire. The Greenhill Jam will go every wednesday for as long as we continue to peel our crusty curmudgeonly bodies off of our floral print couches, as long as there is romance, heart ache, and laughs to be had the Greenhill will provide the forum in which we articulate those things.

JAM DAY! We have something really special, or at least I hope we do, my daughter just tuned 18 yesterday and this will be her very first jam (she plays drums and violin). Jam challenge is songs about Canada, songs written by Canadians, or anything of that nature. Jam is 7pm till late (for real). Jam day!! Daddy’s back and he’s looking for face melting riffs, what is a face melting riff you ask? Anything that stirs your heart and soul…. Sure Black Sabbath but what about that killer start to Jim Circe’s “Time in Bottle”, Melvins are cool but what about Gordon Lightfoot. We’re taking anything we can get. Jam is 7pm to 10pm. I’m not writing the slogan today to see who’s reading this far.

They are working hard to soundproof/insulate the ceiling as well as replacing the ceiling tiles of the Greenhilll! JAM JAM JAM!! Jam challenge is PUNK. I loved Black Flag as a 15 yr old kid and I went to this Placebo/ Ramada Gods show at U of C and who was walking up the stairs? It was Henry Rollins. I ran up to him and shook his hand and I called him "Mr Rollins" and that makes me cringe so hard now. Gives us those classics punk hams (seeing if you're still reading). Jam is 7pm till 10pm.
