Looking for something new to try? Check out Hylo Curling Club’s Blacklight OPEN Bonspiel. This unique event is Feb 1 & 2. Their 2 sheet facility will be set up with blacklights, rocks with flourcent wraps and some other unique features. Something new they are trying this year & looks to be a fun time. Super League Playoffs

Saturday morning saw the 3 teams tied at 2-2 start the day with a draw the bottom to determine ranking. Team Dwan had the best draw, putting them in 2nd spot, followed by Team Vallée in 3rd and Team Shulman in 4th.

Playoff games started shortly after. In the 2vs3 semi-final game, Team Dwan played extremely well, forcing team Vallée to make some difficult shots. In the end, Team Dwan won the game and moved on to Sunday’s final.

The 4vs5 game had some great ends back & forth, but ultimately, Team Shulman came out on top against Team Rocque. The win put Team Shulman in the 1vs4 semi final at 1:30pm to face the undefeated Team Ouellette.

The 1vs4 semi-final was the closest game of the day. Both teams played very well. Team Ouellette had a 1 point lead and the hammer going into the final end. That advantage was enough to help them secure the win and moved on to the finals on Sunday.

Sunday finals saw Team Dwan challenge top-seeded Team Ouellette for the Championship. The first few ends were very close, with both teams trading points. But ultimately Team Ouellette proved once again why they were ranked number 1. Their shot-making was on fire which made it difficult for Team Dwan to break through.

Congratulations to your 2024 Super League Champions- Team Ouellette!

Great curling and great shots were made all weekend.

With 3 teams tied with 2-2 records, Saturday morning will begin with a draw to the button. The team with the closest draw will secure 2nd place and the team with the furthest draw will be deemed 4th place. Draw to the button will start at 10am.

Immediately following the draw to the button, the 4th place team will play the 5th place team and the 2nd place team will play the 3rd place team.

Winner of 4 vs 5 will play at 1pm against the top-ranked Team Ouellette.

Winner of 2 vs 3 will play at 10am Sunday morning against the winner of the 1pm game.

Week 4 Superleague Update

The final games of the round robin will conclude this Sunday, December 8th and the playoff picture is starting to take shape.

The 4/5 game has been decided but Schulman and Rocque will meet in a playoff preview game to gauge each other play styles before playing in our first win or go home game.

This Sundays other match up is a true classic. The battle for the #1 seed will come down to the final game of Ouellette and Vallee. Will Team Ouellette finish their round robin play with a perfect 4-0 record or will the all ladies rink of Team Vallee shake off their opening night heartbreak loss in an extra end to rattle off 3 straight wins and claim the #1 seed?

The only inactive team this Sunday is Team Dwan. They have finished their round robin play and have secured 3rd overall heading into next weekends playoffs.

Playoffs are scheduled for December 14 and 15.
