Do you drool for tulle? 🤤 Tulle is used in almost every type of wedding dress in some way or another (ball gown under skirt, fit and flare, sleeves, veil, etc) but full tulle wedding dresses are absolutely STUNNING when creating a fairy/magical look on your special day. It’s also an incredibly light fabric which makes it a perfect option for a summer/beach wedding. ☀️🌊

INVITATION TIME! 💌

Wedding invitations should embody the same theme & colour scheme as the rest of your wedding! They’re a perfect indication of the formality of the event so your guests have a good idea of how to dress and what to expect for your special day. This is also a perfect opportunity for the couple to express their style and make something so simple, so personal. 💗

Invitations should include:
-Invitation card (date, time, couple’s names & ceremony’s/reception venue location)
-Menu
-RSVP card or website
-Table number (optional)
-Return/response envelop addressed to you to make it easier for the guest to mail their RSVP
-Other wedding details (ie. Theme, dress code, itinerary, wedding party, directions, etc.)

What not to include:
-Gift list/registry information
-Mention of “no children allowed” - If the guest’s child is invited, they should be addressed personally in the invitation
-“Plus One” - again, if someone is invited, they should be addressed personally

Wedding cake fun fact:
You can only order a cake decorated with real flowers if they are certified organic! 🌸Who knew?

On a side note, I just love how pretty these lightly frosted wedding cakes are! I mean, as long there is enough icing on the inside to overcompensate, right 😏

Let’s talk Bridesmaid duties! Being asked to be part of the wedding party is a massive honour. Bridesmaids play a primal role in the wedding. Below are some potential responsibilities you could have as a Bridesmaid. This could help for those of you who are doing this for the first time and don’t know where to start:

♥ Provide emotional support as much as possible
♥ Purchase your own dress and accessories for the wedding
♥ You may be asked to be part of the bridal dress shopping experience
♥ It is generous to give a gift to the couple before the wedding. This should NOT be expected by the couple and is not necessary, as they understand you are already expected to spend money for the wedding in other areas.
♥ Hosting Bridal/Wedding Shower and Bachelorette party (mostly Maid of Honour)
♥ Signing the wedding lisence as a Witness for the couple (Maid of Honour)
♥ Toasts at showers, rehearsal dinner and reception 🥂
♥ Pictures! 📷
♥ Assisting the Bride during washroom breaks
♥ Help with makeup touch-ups💄
♥ Help with hosting duties at the ceremony & reception - understanding how seating works and directing the guests accordingly
♥ This is a team effort! Work with the other Bridesmaids to coordinate all the above tasks (don’t forget this experience is an opportunity for you to make lifelong friends!)

My name is Meghan Bewes and I am currently taking the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC) course to become a certified Wedding Planner and Consultant! Earning a diploma in recreation and leisure services as well as having experienced creating magic for the Walt Disney World company are the two major life events that have brought me to this career decision.

I am the creator of Bewtiful Weddings and Events and our focus is to create beautiful weddings that exceed ALL expectation.

• Partial Event Planning : we help plan as much or as little as you desire
• Full Event Planning : we take responsibility for planning the entire event
• Day-of Coordination : we attend the wedding day ceremony and reception to conduct evenflow and make sure everything runs smoothly
