Tulip season is here!

I planted so many bulbs last fall, but let some go to bloom this year for myself to enjoy. They did not disappoint!

This morning I’ve been enjoying coffee, looking out the window at the trees blowing, the aftermath of last nights storm, and reflecting.

It’s a new year- and I’ve been scrolling through my photos, looking over past memories.

Since a lot of you came to my page this past Christmas, I thought now would be a good time to share more about myself.

- My name is Michelle
- I grew up in Stockdale/Wooler
- I’m a mom of two boys, and two dogs
- My education is in Health & Social Policy, Community Engagement, and Social Work…but farming speaks to me
- My partner Jessie is a top-notch home builder/carpenter/machine operator- we do everything ourselves, but he is the power behind our big projects
- We’ve been working on our dream backyard since 2020… and I seem to expand my gardens every year 😅
- I call my current hobbies “The 3 G’s”- gardening, golf, and guitar.
- My home originally came with a small garden of Lupine plants. Lupines sparked my interest in gardening, which is why they are on my logo.

This growing and gardening page is a passion of mine.

I love creating these swag wreaths!

Not everyone has large or double doors to their home. I personally don’t, and I always felt left out when trying to decorate for the holidays. Creating these swags gave me the satisfaction of having a big beautiful wreath, while working with my current home.

Hi friends!

We have planters, and all sorts of wreaths!

I’ll have some items heading down to Crafted Creations tomorrow, and over the next few days.

PLANTERS:
$ 45 each, or two for $80. They are tall and full!

I have 5 buffalo plaid ball planters, and 4 bird house planters available! I’ll be taking 2 of each kind down to Crafted Creations tomorrow morning.

I’ll have Christmas ball planters coming out later this week.

WREATHS:

I have 1 large wreath currently made- this baby is on a 14 inch ring and it measures 2 ft across. Can be finished to your liking!

Who else is getting into the Christmas/Holiday Season?

I pulled my tree out of the basement, set it up in my sun room, and plugged it in. I’ve pulled my decorations out, but haven’t put them on the tree quite yet.

I’ve been out harvesting different types of greenery, seeing what I can create. But I just can’t put the finishing touches on them yet.

I’m still deciding if I want to go all out Christmas with reds, or keep it neutral and decorate for winter.

I usually like to decorate my home for winter so I can leave my decorations up until February ☺️ Give me pinecones, snowflakes, and snowmen!

Custom dahlia, snapdragon and zinnia bouquet!

Cut flower garden tip:

Thinking of colour palettes before you plant seeds and tubers makes bouquet making much easier!

Is it just me, or is anyone else already planning their gardens next year? ☺️

Today we have a custom mixed bouquet for one of my golf girls!

Here we have dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, scabiosa, sedum, snapdragons, and strawflower grown by myself, and a special feature of rudibeckia grown from seed by my friends Michelle and Reuben at Earth & Bloom Flower Company .

Michelle at Earth and Bloom has been one of my top supporters this growing season!

This past winter when starting from seed, Michelle was there every step of the way answering questions, and giving me tips and tricks for growing. In the spring, we visited, swapped seeds, and she shared many plant starts with me, such as her fantastic marigolds, rudbeckia, dahlias, and coneflowers.

I am so grateful for your friendship Michelle!

After a month hiatus, and this weeks holidays, I’m hoping to get into the garden… and all the weeds that have taken over!

But it’s August, and you know what that means…. the dahlias and zinnias are here! It’s so nice to finally have some different colours to play with in bouquets.

Today my sister’s family came over and we did a mini u-pick. We had lunch, they made bouquets and took some pictures. The perfect afternoon 💕
