My Why……

My why in 2019 was to help raise money to find a cure for the awful disease my beautiful Maria was diagnosed with. My why was to save her life.

In 2022, my why was taken from me. Maria lost her battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and it felt like we lost our battle in finding a cure once and for all. I still get lost in the hopelessness of knowing that my daughter will never live out a long life. My daughter won’t get married or have children of her own.

In grieving these unimaginable losses, I can’t help but think that it shouldn’t be this way. No parent should have to lose their child–especially to cancer.

Now, my why is to save other people’s lives. In Maria’s honour, I can raise awareness about the disease that cut her life short. I can help educate people about how important fundraising for research is–and what’s at stake in making a difference.

Together, we can all make a difference.
