Our hearts go out to the people of the Philippines as they face the devastating effects of Tropical Storm Yagi. The storm has led to severe flooding, extensive damage to homes, and widespread power outages across several provinces. The affected communities need our support now more than ever.

Our community can help, we're organizing Pinoy Band Aid: Magbayanihan para sa Kababayan, a benefit concert to raise funds for those impacted by the storm. All proceeds will go directly to relief efforts, providing much-needed aid to families in need.

📣 Call for sponsors! Support Pinoy Band Aid: Magbayanihan para sa Kababayan, a benefit concert.

Between July 21 and 25, a powerful Southwest Monsoon and Super Typhoon Carina hit the Philippines and brought torrential rains and flooding that impacted almost 5.5 million people.

Then as many were still trying to rebuild their lives, Tropical Storm Yagi slammed across Luzon on September 2nd, killing at least 14 people as it triggered more floods and landslides.

​Our Kababayan need our help.

The Pinoy Festival Alliance Society’s Pinoy Band Aid is a fundraising concert to raise needed funds to help our kababayan. It will be held on October 5th at Chandos Pattison Auditorium Pacific Academy, 10238 168 Street, Surrey, BC V4N 1Z4, Canada.

It is co-organized by the UP Alumni Association of BC, the Bisayan Alliance in BC, the Vancouver Hinirang Eagles Club, the Mixed Media and Music Artist Society of BC and the Philippine Institute of Chartered Accountants - Vancouver.

Through your sponsorship - you can help our community send even more aid to the Philippines. Together we can make a difference.

🇵🇭 Mabuhay and Welcome to the Community!

📣 The Mixed Media and Music Artists' Society of BC (M3ASBC) is excited to announce its formation as an organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of artists across various media, including visual arts, mixed media, and music.

Their society serves as a hub for creative professionals, offering a platform for collaboration, networking, and the sharing of artistic practices. The M3ASBC focuses on promoting and supporting artists who explore the intersection of different art forms.

A key part of its mission is to promote Filipino art and culture within our community and beyond, contributing to the rich and diverse Canadian art landscape. They aim to celebrate and showcase the cultural heritage of the Filipino community in BC through various events and initiatives.

The society will hosts regular exhibitions, performances, and workshops, providing opportunities for artists to showcase their work and engage with the public. These events often feature a blend of different artistic styles and genres, reflecting the dynamic creative landscape of BC and Canada as a whole.

On August 31st, the M3ASBC will hold the induction ceremony for their founding officers.

📣 Couples for Christ: Continuing the Mission for the Poor

Today, Couples for Christ proudly held the 21st Annual Walk for the Poor at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium, an inspiring event dedicated to answering the cry of the poor. They were blessed with a great turnout, and the event was graced by Minister Adrian Dix, Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, Councillor Maita Santiago, Richard Lee, Vice Consul Marco Frederick Harder and our Santacruzan Reyna Donna and Reem. For over two decades, their advocacy has been a valuable response to those in need, uniting hearts and feet to walk in faith and love. Together, they continue to make a difference—one step at a time!

Great community events today, highlighted by the warm and welcoming Adivay celebration hosted by the Benguet Society of BC at Frazer Foreshore Park in Burnaby. The event showcased remarkable Igorot culture, particularly their hospitality toward other communities. Delicious food was shared with the public, along with a deep sense of tradition and cultural pride. A big thank you to all the officers, organizers, and volunteers who made the Adivay event a success. Congratulations!

Dear Pinoy Band Aid Supporters,

Thank you so much for all of your support for the Pinoy Band Aid and for the effort to raise funds for our kababayan hit by Typhoon Carina.

However we sincerely regret to inform you that due to unseen delays in ticketing - we have made the difficult decision to move the date of our benefit concert.

The new date for Pinoy Band Aid is now October 5, 2024.

The concert is still scheduled to take at the same place at Massey Theatre and here are the new details:

Between July 21 and July 25, the Philippines was devastated by a powerful Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina. They brought relentless rains and widespread flooding, leaving nearly 5.5 million Filipinos affected. Today, almost 600,000 of our kababayan remain displaced, without a place to call home.
