Did you know, the community of West Hillhurst was formerly known as [ GRAND TRUNK ] for the better half of the 20th Century❓

The area was named in 1907 to honour the role that the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway played in shaping various areas of Calgary. In 1948 the Grand Trunk Community Association was born and eventually a few years later, they renamed the community to what it's known as today, West Hillhurst.

Fast forward 75 years later and we're thrilled to be celebrating the history of the neighbourhood and this incredible milestone of the West Hillhurst Community Association while giving a nod to the community's original roots. It symbolized the unity, resilience, and shared values that has shaped West Hillhurst into the vibrant and welcoming community today. ❤️
