ROKA 🤍 One of the most significant pre-wedding ceremonies in Punjabi weddings, Roka quite literally translates to “Stop”, and signifies that the couple have stopped looking for the one as they have now found each other. It is the couple’s official announcement of their relationship to the world and a chance for their families to meet for the first time.

The Posh & Peony team planned Jaismine and Charanjot’s intimate Roka Ceremony at their home in Conrich, Alberta. From designing the backdrop with a hanging floral installation to perfectly match the couple’s outfits, finding a photography team to capture all the wholesome moments to custom gift baskets we were able to provide a truly personalized experience✨

When we think of a south asian, festival or fair, we immediately think bright colours and an inviting space for all! Wearing a lilac jumpsuit gave our bride a soft and feminine look & on top of that, it put the focus on the beautiful and intrecate bridal mehendi adorned on her. In my VERY limited free time, I am most likely chasing sunsets while dreaming of the ocean (fact of the day: I can’t swim). Being a virgo is a major personality trait .. but let’s be real, I am just a perfectionist. Regardless of the task, I am always pushing myself to reach perfection and nothing less.

Hi, My name is Akanksha and I am the co-founder of Posh & Peony Events! Extra, bubbly & particular are words my friends will use to describe me and I will add funny to that list as-well.

I have watched all seasons of Bridgerton more times than I would like to admit and fawn over everything pink and bright. I never say no to food or drinks and love my solo bike-and-podcast dates. Once I decide to do something, there is no such thing as rest, pain or discomfort when it comes to getting it done.

Just as I would for my loved ones, my main goal with Posh & Peony is creating special and lasting memories for my couples and clients 🤍✨

A stunning floral arch and partition draped in greenery and vibrant red, orange, pink, and blush blooms.
