Celebrating your child’s first birthday is a momentous occasion and planning a memorable experience can be both exciting and a bit overwhelming. Here are some tips to ensure you have the best experience for your child’s first birthday:

1. Plan Around Your Child’s Schedule: Consider your child’s nap and feeding times when planning the party. A well-rested and well-fed baby is more likely to enjoy their first birthday party.
2. Choose a Theme/ Color Scheme: This can make planning decorations, cake and rentals much easier. Themes don’t have to be elaborate - even simple themes like balloons, animals, or a favorite color can work well.
3. Location: If you’re not hosting at home, choose a location well in advance (they get booked really fast!!) that’s child-friendly and safe for babies who might be crawling or taking their first steps. Make sure there’s a form of entertainment for them so they don’t get bored and cranky.
4. Capture the Memories: Take plenty of photos and videos, or consider hiring a professional photographer. These memories will be priceless for your family and your child when they’re older. .co is my first and favourite recommendation 🫶🏻
5. Baby-Friendly Foods: If you’re serving food, include some baby-friendly options or a small smash cake for your one-year-old. Check with guests about potential food allergies. Finger foods and fresh fruits are always a good idea.
6. Gift Opening: Depending on your child’s temperament, you may want to open only a couple of the gifts and leave the rest for the day after or when you get home. This can prevent any overwhelming moments and gives you a chance to properly thank guests later.
7. Set Expectations for your guests: Remember that despite the best-laid plans, things may not go as expected, and that’s okay. The most important part is celebrating your child’s first year and the joy they’ve brought into your lives. However, having a timeline that is shared with your guests might help you keep things in a good flow.

Lastly, don’t forget to enjoy the moment and the celebration. The first birthday is such a big milestone for you as parents as it is for your child. 🤍

Organizing a child’s birthday party can be stressful, but here are 3 tips to help you reduce that stress:

1. Plan Ahead: Start planning early to avoid last-minute rushes. Make a checklist of everything you need to do, including invitations, decorations, food, and activities. This helps you manage tasks over time rather than getting overwhelmed just before the event!

2. Hire an Event Planner: Remember, the focus is on fun and celebrating your child and all your child needs is YOU, your attention, and your play time with him/her.
If you would like to make an impression and are one of those moms who are going ALL in, I recommend hiring an event planner to lessen your load. They will make your vision come true and you can sit back, relax and enjoy 🫶🏻

3. Ask for Help or Delegate: Don’t hesitate to ask family members or friends for assistance, or consider hiring help for certain tasks like catering and entertainment. Delegating tasks can significantly reduce your workload and stress, allowing you to enjoy the party more.

Since we have a lot of new people joining our page I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

My name is Noemi /no-amy/. I am a mother of 2 girls 👧🏼 👧🏼 💖💖 I have a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and several years of experience in movement rehabilitation and caregiving. I move to Canada 10 years ago and I met my husband one week after I arrived. We are both entrepreneurial people, who center our lives around faith, love and celebration.

I founded Dreamland Rentals YYC in early 2022 and have been making families happy ever since 🫶🏻
