ʀᴇsᴛᴀᴜʀᴀɴᴛ ʀᴇᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴏɴs…
Here’s why we like them so much:
1. With thorough communication before hand at a well chosen, reputable, & professionally run establishment, Food and Beverage service runs like clockwork. This is what they do, often all day, every day. And they want you to come back. Efficiency, deliciousness and hospitality are built into the infrastructure. It’s a good thing.
2. Everything is already there. There are chairs, tables, glassware, dishware and flatware. There is a kitchen and refrigeration and heat and air conditioning. There’s a sound system and washrooms. There are bar tenders and servers and managers to oversee everything. And there is clean up (your decor often excluded… but that’s where we come in😁) at the end of the night. This is one stop shopping at its finest, friends.
3. Choose a restaurant with fabulous decor, great light fixtures, stylish seating and quite possibly some swanky lounge furniture and your wedding reception styling is all but complete. Add some personalized touches like florals (sɪᴅᴇʙᴀʀ: Get you a florist who understands the assignment like @chickweedflorals so fully did for A+N’s wedding @bluebirdbanff shown in this very reel☝🏼), some fun napkins and well designed stationery and signage and you’re golden, baby. We love styling. For sure. It’s our favourite part of the wedding planning process. But if your venue is already supah chic all on its own and doesn’t need a whole lot of bells and whistles brought in to pretty it up, we’re not mad about it.
Do you have an event - wedding, milestone birthday, anniversary, Tuesday night - you need help orchestrating? Let’s talk! We are so excited to hear about what you’ve got cookin’😉 #seewhatwedidthere

𝟷. Dinner table stationery can pack a big styling punch without breaking the bank. Colours and font choices are endless. Have fun. Be daring. If you can’t be a trailblazer with your wedding menus, when on earth can you be??
𝟸. Feel free to have dinner menus even for a buffet. We love knowing the deliciousness that awaits us on a buffet line. “Oo! There’s gonna be Bacon Mac n’ Cheese? Let’s go!”
𝟹. Talk to your caterer. Ask them how you can arrange/design your menus and place cards to help them provide the smoothest possible service for a plated dinner. We love a different coloured wax seal or varying hues of raw silk ribbon used to affix place cards to menus and also indicate entrée selections.
𝟺. Consider adding a quick “V” or “GF” or “DF” or any other applicable dietary acronyms to your menus to ease the minds of your guests. Yes, they have likely already let you know if they have food sensitivities or allergies. But there is so much reassurance behind those letters for those who need to be extra cautious. It’s just another way of showing your guests you’ve thought of their needs and want them to feel comfortable, relaxed and well taken care of.
𝟻. Remember the “gentle” breeze that might flow during outdoor or tented receptions. Will your menus and place cards be carried off in the wind, never to be seen again? For al fresco dinners, we like an all-in-one option with guest names printed directly on the menu or place cards attached to menus with a simple brad or elegant clip. For an added anchor, a teaspoon or full flatware set or guest favour (if you’re offering one) placed on top of the menu works like a charm.
