#GMID2024
A day to celebrate our industry while reminding elected officials that we bring in the economy's high-value tax dollars and revenue? We’re there!
Next Thursday, April 11 is Global Meetings Industry Day, by Meetings Mean Business Canada, and you can join #GMID2024 by attending the event in your area. You can also take the same jump we did and become a Meetings Mean Business Canada member, partnering up for the long haul to keep our industry moving onward and upward. Check it out 👇

We’re shining a spotlight on the #LitGala2023. 💡 In one unforgettable night, our city raised over $600,000 in support of free children's resources, writing a bright chapter in the story of Calgary Public Library Foundation. See how we lit up the Calgary Central Library with bold design and experiences that warped guests into the pages of a graphic novel. Until we light up the night again next year, you can support the Foundation with their 50/50 Raffle happening right now! 📸 Ambedo Agency https://onewestevents.com/project/lit-gala-2023/
We did it–together! We saw over 20,000 guests walk through the doors of our events this holiday season, which means over 20,000 most needed items have been donated to Calgary Drop-In Centre. A massive THANK YOU to our phenomenal clients for making this a reality. Our hearts are so full. ❤️
We welcomed our 20,000th guest through the doors last week, and you know what that means…we’ve hit our goal! We can’t say thank you enough times to express our appreciation for our amazing clients who make something like this possible. Here’s a peek at our clients from the past week who helped make this happen. Brb, we have 20,000 items to pack up for Calgary Drop-In Centre. We’ll check in on the other side of this mountain of boxes. 📦❤️
Week 5, and we’re hurtling towards 20,000 donations for Calgary Drop-In Centre. We chose Calgary Drop-In Centre because they are an incredible local organization that sees the people behind the circumstances, such as homelessness and extreme poverty, and helps them find their way home. They make sure their clients have the supplies they need and the services they deserve. With these donations, we’re helping keep those supplies available this winter. Here’s a peek at the amazing events and guests from the past week who are making this all possible. ❤️https://onewestevents.com/one-for-one-one-for-all/

We’re one week into our holiday giving goal, and thanks to our phenomenal clients, we have already purchased 3,930 items to be donated! For every guest we welcome at our events, we are donating one item to our friends at Calgary Drop-In Centre, and we’re excited to watch that number soar toward our goal of 20,000 items.

As we wind down 2022 and look toward the new year, there are two questions on our mind:
1. How will we as #EventProfs continue to *WOW*?
2. What does it look like to create activations that immerse and delight guests in new ways?
Brightside Beer Fest was a creative challenge in just that – marrying each aspect of the event with the brand story to create something unexpected and exciting. From the tasty beer to each interaction as they made their way through the space, guests spent the evening with their five senses fully engaged in the brand experience.
May the new year bring even more challenges that sharpen our imaginations and push us to new heights. 🥂
As #EventProfs should we be employing and certifying in HR core competencies? 💭 On this week's episode of Event Brew, the Brew Crew breaks it down: what does it look like for event profs to employ HR core competencies? What impact could these competencies have on your career and events?

Cut! 🎬 That's a wrap on another brilliant Calgary International Film Festival. There was a spin on the classic red carpet this year, with the first ever Rainbow Carpet in celebration of the prominence of LGBTQ+ film selections, and a car-pet so even the smallest and fluffiest film goers could make their grand entrance.
Working alongside Our PARK Online and on behalf of connectfirst Credit Union, we brought the colour to Calgary. We saw the Eau Claire Market taken over by bold and bright installations to keep guests immersed in the festival experience while between silver screens, and threw a wicked Pride Party to celebrate the premiere of FRANCHESKA: PRAIRIE QUEEN.
What a blast! We’re already counting down to CIFF 2023.
