6 VASES YOU NEED IF YOU LOVE FLOWERS IN YOUR HOME

If you love flowers at home on a regular basis, here are some affordable,helpful tips. Purchase fresh premium flowers from a local florist, a cheap and cheerful bunch for your grocery store, or a few snips from your garden. Here are a few basic rules you need to have at the ready for any flowers.

My first rule is that whatever vase you choose, they have to be stable. Even a simple bud vase, The vase has to be stable so as not to go flying everytime you look at it. Also, vases with some girth at the base for weight but with a smaller opening will allow you to create an attractive vase design with minimal floral material.
Be careful where you place your vase and flowers, if you are fearful the loved pet's tail will wipe off anything on the coffee table you might want to use a container that is unbreakable.

Different size vases will work for different areas of your home. Taller vases work best on kitchen islands and sofa tables where they are not blocking a view or too high on a dining table. Equally for areas like coffee tables and dining tables you might wish for low to not get in the way of conversations in these areas.
If you are tight for storage space, I have always loved the idea of dual use vases, Your largest glass vase when not holding a large bouquet can be pushed in service by filling decorative stones or sand in the first inch of the vase and adding a large cylinder candle. Great for holidays like Christmas or in the middle of your dinner table.

Large glass or ceramic vases are perfect in displaying a beautiful hand tied bouquet from your favorite florist, or when you get a hand tied bouquet as a gift for a birthday or anniversary. These vases are traditionally anywhere 8 to 14 inches tall and 6 to 8 inches in circumference. This size will not only show off your bouquet at its best advantage, allow for ample water for hydration and weight.

A medium to hold the flowers in place. In solid ceramic you can use flower foam or a flower pin holder frog. In clear or colored glass you can do both taping a grid on the top of your vase, as well a ball of chicken wire or rolled up aluminum decorative wire available from most craft and hobby stores. These items will hold your flowers in place and keep them in place when you change out the water every other day.

Having been a collector for many years, my collections come from a wide range of sources. Vintage stores and charity shops can be a good source, even new ceramic vases from leading retail home furnishing stores have a wide range of offerings as well matching with your decor style. If you are looking for more period vase styles, auction and antiques sources might find you your dream container. I have even found my best bud vase years ago at a local grocery store home section store.

So you never know when or where you might find these vase treasures for years of flower enjoyment and following these guidelines will have you prepared to display everything from a few cut flowers to a luxurious bunch of your favorites.
