just a little reminder…

instagram and social media are a highlight reel. Everyday people are dealing with s**t that you know absolutely nothing about. It doesn’t matter how active they are, how they sound online, what they post - you have no idea what’s actually going on. and it’s proven time and time again that the internet can be a great place, but it doesn’t mean it’s a safe place to be able to express that.

I’m not trying to be a downer, but I just wanted to highlight this as I know that a lot of photographers and vendors are burnt out after this crazy year, but we’re still trying to show up. This year was A LOT, for a lot of people in general (outside of the wedding world I mean) but everyday you still see people trying to push through and show up for others.

So I just wanted to remind people of this, because sometimes it’s hard being the type of person who wants to push through and act like everything is fine to everyone, but has been struggling behind the scenes and dealing with things on their own.

A lot of us work by ourselves, or in an environment where we’re not around a lot of people. Some of us live so far away from our families that even though we knew it was right to do, it still hurts that you can’t lean on them like you wish you could. OR some of us just don’t have that kind of relationship with their family, meaning they can’t rely on them at all. Some of us don’t have the support system we need, but we try anyway. A lot of us have gone through major life changes, ups and downs, losses, gains, all of it - which can take a huge toll on our minds and bodies. I feel like I hear something everyday that someone has been dealing with something detrimental to their mental or physical health. But we always just… brush it off.

This is all, pretty obvious probably. But I just wanted to give a shout out to those people who have been showing up, even if you are struggling. Or if you haven’t been showing up, but you’re still pushin’ - keep goin. And don’t feel guilty for putting yourself first.

(not me needing to take my own fu***ng advice hahah)

these two truly embraced the post-wedding/elopement ‘adventure’ sessions I currently offer my couples, and were able to get married back at home, but also have amazing wedding portraits that they’ve dreamed of. Not to mention, they were able to explore the Rockies, making it not only the perfect back drop for their photos, but also making it a great experience overall.

Nothin’ like gettin’ off the beaten path, sharing some laughs and being able to be completely yourselves in such a beautiful place.

LITTLE UPDATE-

1. due to some changes going on in my life, I’ve had to change some things, and updated my availability for the rest of this year and what is booked for next year in my “availability” highlight. If you’re looking to squeeze in a session, or you’re a 2024 couple looking to book their engagement session pls reach out ASAP!
2. My pricing will be going up within the next few weeks, so if you’re looking to lock in my current pricing please reach out ASAP. I’ve also created a couple custom “longer” packages for those multi-day celebrations, so if you’re interested inquire through the link in my bio!
3. I have super limited availability for the summer (like maybe 10 days left available) but my winter is wide open.L, so if you’re looking for a studio day, winter elopement or adventure - just ask and we can make something happen 🤘🏻

romanticize the s**t out of the outdoors..

that’s how I try to achieve more storytelling + connection in your photos. Not just with each other, but with the environment around you.

It helps that I absolutely love the outdoors, and the little details that make the big picture.

The light coming over a peak or ridge, or through the trees with the wind blowing, the way the water can be a perfect reflection or have a mind of its own… you get the idea.

But romanticizing the outdoors, also means respecting the outdoors. So don’t think that the two are opposites of each other - they’re intertwined. It means letting nature do its thing, and realizing that you cannot control it. So it needs to be accepted for what it is, and that sometimes means plans change, routes change, views change, but we just need to be happy with what we can get. Because all of it is beautiful in its own way, even if its not an ‘epic view’

counting down the days till my summer is filled with more of these kinda vibes 🏕✨🍻

if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that we absolutely LOVE camping. And over the years, we’ve been exploring different areas to camp, while having some favourite places in our back pocket. But this year I have a we’re trying out brand new(to us) places to camp, places to explore, test out some new things I wanna learn, and get our set up down to a science. I’ve always loved the outdoors (no s**t Alicia we already know that) but the last couple of years I’ve loved learning more things about it, how to enjoy it safely + respectfully, while also trying new things and seeing new places. So, if people are interested in sharing about it set up, what we use, what to prepare all that stuff - stay tuned! And any/ all tips are appreciated- leave yours below!

get funky with it 💃🪩🕺

i love when people think outside of the box, and even though a shoot like this is pretty different from what I normally do, I like change + embrace the different-ness of it. I just care that it’s something related to you + your story, and its something you ACTUALLY WANT TO DO.

So for those who are curious if I only shoot mountains - that’s not true. I shoot it all. I just like to save studio days for the winter! So if this is something that you’re interested in doing for an engagement session, anniversary session, just for fun - inquire away! My winter is wide open and ready to take on all the creative projects after climbing mountains + sleeping in tents all summer

when the details just all fit together perfectly ✨🤌🏼

this was the first time I’ve ever planned something so ‘elaborate’ and detailed. Let alone having other photographers trust me to pull it off, and having so many vendors be a part of the vision.

And other than one tiny mishap (see ‘Girl on Fire’ by Alicia Keys) honestly I’d like to say the day was perfect. From all the amazing vendors who pulled though, Jenna + Nick for being awesome as always, and everyone who drove all the way out to the mountains to capture their own view of it - I feel like I’ve gained 5 new friends (which if you’re a photographer, you know its hard to make ‘work friends’)

So, thank you to everyone who came out, helped out, shared a beer with me - y’all are awesome. And maybe this is something I’ll do again if there’s interest, because we need more chill and fun and less stress and pressure for creating sometimes.

(PS - will now be adding charcuterie boards to my packages cause yes I made that myself and it was DAMN GOOD LOL)

throwing it back to one of the most gorgeous fall days I’ve ever seen, with two people who make the best out of everything, making a beautiful fall wedding..

B + C knew they had to have some things involved with their wedding that they couldn’t (+ wouldn’t change) like family, friends, and certain traditions. And while they dabbled with the idea of eloping, they decided that if they had to have certain traditions, they would make the best of it, and make it the most THEM wedding they could.

From the gothic decor, to the vibe of the cathedral, little cats scattered around their reception + music from their favourite movies + video games, to giving me their old polaroid to snap photos of throughout the day, they had the best time sharing laughs with family + friends, and getting to spend moments in the midst of everything just them, soaking it all in.

Here’s to making your wedding as YOU AS POSSIBLE. 👻
