🏆 The BMO Nations' Cup at the Spruce Meadows 'Masters'🏆

The BMO Nations' Cup is the only team competition at Spruce Meadows, held annually at the 'Masters.' Nations from around the globe send their top riders and horses to compete in this team event, showcasing skill, strategy, and the highest level of equestrian sport.

What makes the Nations' Cup so special? It’s more than just an individual competition. Each nation fields a team of riders, and their combined efforts decide the outcome. This is where teamwork meets precision, as riders navigate challenging courses designed to test both the horse’s agility and the rider’s ability. With Olympic-level difficulty and world-class competitors, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In the 2024 edition, Germany claimed victory with 5 faults. Congratulations to Andre Thieme and Paule S, Jorne Sprehe and Toys, Daniel Deusser and Gangster V/H Noddevelt, Jana Wargers and Dorette Old, and chef d'equipe Otto Becker, followed by Ireland in second place with 8 faults, and Great Britain taking third with 10 faults. Each team demonstrated incredible tenacity, but it was the Germans who emerged victorious, reaffirming their dominance on the world stage.

Here’s how the nations ranked:

🇩🇪 Germany - 1st place (5 faults)
🇮🇪 Ireland - 2nd place (8 faults)
🇬🇧 Great Britain - 3rd place (10 faults)
🇨🇭 Switzerland - 4th place (16 faults)
🇨🇦 Canada - 5th place (28 faults)
🇫🇷 France - 6th place (38 faults)
🇪🇸 Spain - 7th place (54 faults)

Thank you BMO for partnering with us since the inception of the Nations' Cup in 1977! That's 47 years, and did you know, Germany won the very first year we held the Nations' Cup, with Achaz Von Buchwaldt, Norbert Koof, Ulrich Meyer zu Bexten, Hendrix Schulze-Siehoff, and chef d’equipe Fritz Ligges. Swipe to see their photo! Germany also won in 1984, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2013, and 2018!
