We asked the team - What inspired you to become a wedding photographer/videographer?
Blake - I love photographing couples on one of the happiest days of their lives
Carolyn - I did not really dream of becoming a photographer/videographer but I discovered my passion for it when it started out as a hobby in my early 20's. It's really an honor to be part of a couple's special day and document their wedding for them to remember forever. I know that those photos/videos are what will be passed down and cherished for generations, so it is very meaningful work to me.
Doug - My love of making short films
Kait - I’ve always loved photography, but my passion for capturing love stories and immortalizing the best days of people’s lives is what draws me to wedding photography.
Kyra - I enjoy storytelling and capturing memories as they unfold. I think it is really beautiful to create something that people hold so close.
Lori - What inspired me to pursue wedding photography was my own wedding 18 years ago! Instead of hiring a professional photographer I decided to buy a good camera and hope that a family member or friend would capture the moments. My wedding was beautiful, but sadly my photographs were not. I knew from that experience how important it is to hire a professional photographer for such an important event. I then enrolled in a photography program at college and the rest is history!
Paul - Getting to capture the best day of people’s lives sounded like a good way to spend my days.
Quinn - 10 years into my photo career and I still can't tell you exactly what it was that launched me into the photo world. I have always been super extroverted and a people person so I think that has a lot to do with it. Photography allows me a way to connect with people and help to create the most memorable moments that will last a lifetime.
Tamsin - This answer has changed over my 15+ years of working as a wedding photographer. The love story will always drive my creativity and storytelling, however, the idea that what I am creating that day will be cherished for generations definitely factors into my inspiration.
Trent - Our anniversary was coming up, and Holly was talking about how she loved photography in high school; I ended up researching and getting a Canon Rebel xti for her. After some time, I ended up getting more and more interested in it and borrowed (stole) the camera to capture everything I saw.
