Allergies, skin issues, kidney struggles, random food sensitivities, low energy, and so much more can all point to a gut that is inflamed, working hard, and sadly porous. This is called "leaky gut".
Saturday I had a conversation with a lovely client who is having a hard time with excema on her sweet little 3 month old. We know Mom's gut was out of balance so this would have passed to the little one as our babies inherit Moms gut flora and a little Dad's too. This could create the perfect storm for baby to have a leaky gut and the right environment for unhealthy bacteria and yeast to grow out of control. The proteins in the breast milk may pass through the gut wall in a larger form-causing the bodies immune system to react any way it can to get the large proteins complexes out of the blood stream. This combined with yeast overgrowth can show up on the skin.
When the gut cannot break down protein, lots of damage can occur as the body tries to deal with it. Instead of driving yourself crazy trying ro eliminate all the triggers- which could be anything with a leaky gut- make a plan to heal and seal that gut wall with nourishing foods.
This way you will treat the root cause and one day be able to handle many types of foods with no concerns.
