I hear this from clients all the time: “We don’t have many photos together and don’t know how to pose for the camera.”

But they always absolutely nail the shoot. We planned a Bridal Portraits style of shoot in a relaxed setting without the wedding day rush. A time to just enjoy plusssss eat some delishous donuts.

On our initial call, I asked them what they love doing together. Sharing food - so for their session, we went out and got donuts! Love having a personal touch to these types of shoots, a way to capture their connection.

And of course, their dog had to be part of the photos 🐕

Couples that are deeply in love >>

Saratoga has always been one of my favourite spots for engagement photos. I have to admit, my favourite beaches will always be the endless sand beaches in Tofino butttt Saratoga is a close second on all of Vancouver Island.

Beautiful greenery, trees, mountain views, and blue skies which all make for the perfect backdrop! One thing I especially love is that it’s rarely crowded, especially in the evenings.

If you’re looking for a great spot for engagement photos, Saratoga Beach in Campbell River my just be your spot!

When Sarah and Matt’s fall wedding was approaching, I was kind of stressing about the weather, you never know with Fall wedding. Somehow we ended up having the nicest day in all of October!

Bonus to a Fall Wedding: The sun also sets much earlier in the fall, so we got to sneak out and get some golden hour photos early. This meant more time to just chill and enjoy the party afterward.

And speaking of the party, the dance floor started way earlier than usual! It was like the night just pulled everyone in, and before you knew it, we were all having the best time.

Karan and I hopped on a few detailed calls. We covered everything from outfits, ring hiding spots, ensuring I was perfectly positioned for the big reveal, and even planning a wave as a signal when he was ready. Seeing a partner go the extra mile is amazing to be part of.

And when it comes to a moment this important, I know couples want that captured - not just in photos, but in video too. Because of that, I brought my friend along to film the proposal on a iPhone so that they can rewatch this moment anytime they want!

Exciting news from K Davis Designs! ()

Kelsey moved her business to a new studio, which means big changes are in store. With a focus on luxury and professionalism, she needed a brand refresh for her website and social media.

We spent a full day capturing her expertise in action - this way, clients know exactly what they can expect when they work with her. But after that, we also wanted to get personal. We spent another few hours together creating in a ‘studio setting.’

Kelsey now has countless brand images that represent her, as well as endless stock imagery of the high-quality products she uses with her services. These are perfect for social media posts and stories while she connects with her clients!

This all started with a heartfelt call from Evan. He knew how special it would be to capture the proposal on camera, and he made a mental note that his girlfriend liked my photography - So, he made it happen!

As I waited on the beach with my hood up and camera ready, I was shaking - mostly from excitement but nerves were running high. I can’t imagine how he felt in the moment doing the proposing.

Evan and I discussed on our calls where to be and how to give me the ‘1-minute heads up wave’ when she wasn’t looking. It meant go time. I started to inch closer to them as the moment unfolded.

With all couples, I give them some space to savor the moment, away from the lens, before we have fun capturing their newly engaged excitement 🎉

The PRESSURE capturing another Photographer and her family is wild.

and I have worked weddings together and created a friendship bonding over work, nutrition, life, all the things. I feel like she always has the answers. As another Nikon shooter, she always has my back when needing extra gear and support. I wanted this shoot to be perfect, especially knowing how hard it is to get on the other side of a camera.

Destination wedding in Mexico? Say no more.

Morgan & Josh know how to plan a beautiful wedding - I honestly think if I was getting married one day, this would be exactly what l’d want.

The rehearsal around a bonfire with everyone together set the tone for how incredible the big day would be.

Not many resorts have their own beach but this one was stationed right between some massive rock walls which just happened to keep anyone else from getting to the beach. Private, and modern, with literally the best resort food I’ve ever had.. I could have stayed there for a month.

I still think about those views even to this day, and the party. The dancing in the rain and lightning party (see last picture ).

Personally, something that makes my life a thousand times better, is a grouo of amazing friends. And better yet, a group of friends you’ve grown up with - it’s hard to replicate that kind of friendship.

At this wedding, things were a bit different. I mean, first of all it took place in Mexico at this stunning hidden gem of a resort, but what really stuck out to me was the energy of the group. The entire wedding party has known each other their whole lives - just a huge group of best friends that know how to have a great time together.

It’s hard not to sound cliche or cheesy when talking about weddings and photography. This whole day felt like a piece of art. Everywhere I looked there was somebody hiding themselves shedding a tear, people crouched over from laughing so hard, a bro hug taking place in the corner, the light hitting the dress perfectly, little gestures of people holding one another, or tearing off each other’s shirts on the dance floor after torrential downpour

If you’ve been to Tofino, you know the energy there is different.

I visited Tofino every summer since the year I was born, it’s always heals a special place in my heart. When I was a kid, I always had this idea in the back of my head that maybe.. just maybe.. I would get married here one day.

That’s why this wedding was extra special. My first ever Tofino wedding. Something I’ve had on my goals list for too long.

It’s funny because these two almost didn’t get married in Tofino, but I’m so glad they change their minds and decide on this gem of a place.

They got ready at this wicked oceanfront resort tucked away downtown, had their ceremony on one of the best surfing beaches, and their reception at the most beautiful event venue along the harbour.

This was one of those weddings where every time I zoomed in to the couple, one of them was admiring the other. They had that look, you know, the look that says ‘holy sh*t how did I get so lucky’

From my experience with Grads this year, I admire the way they think. When we got chatting about capturing this time in their lives, they wanted to do something big, memorable, unique, exciting. These are exactly the ways I think life is meant to be lived.

is where the girls worked and where the guys played. It’s a special place for them, where they spent years making memories together. Naturally, we did what they loved - Ripping around on golf carts, hanging out on their favourite course, laughing, listening to music.

I felt like I was capturing my own self when I was a fresh graduate. Everything was special, you really were ‘the main character’ at the time. This was more evident after trekking up to Menzies Mountain with a box of pizza in hand.

This session reminded me to not take life so seriously. To stop thinking so much, be present, and just enjoy exactly what is in front of you.

One of my favourite parts of the day is when I can steal the couple away from the reception to allow them some time to really soak each other in after the ceremony!

The golden hour makes things even more romantic. ✨😍

When you hire me as your wedding photographer or videographer, I guarantee that not one moment or emotion is going to be missed. And through the years you’ll be able to relive those moments over and over.

I could not believe my eyes:

This bride had the most special surprise planned - her and her dad snuck off deep into the woods to the hidden boat ramp along the ocean.

Within minutes, they were being pushed off into the ocean for some final one on one time before the ceremony.

It was so special, and just one of many unique touches these two had during their wedding day, such as:

- Sister practicing cello before the ceremony
- Hiding away to write their vows
- an intimate, candlelit dinner
- Pure joy all day
- Colorful, non matching flowers

The beauty is that you can make your day however you want it to be (serious, ultra intimate, super romantic), cause it’s about you and your person ✨

As a photographer, I love being able to capture those genuine, fun moments with the people you love.

With family photos, I create an experience for you and your family to have some downtime, and to enjoy time together away from the hustle and bustle of life.

While I’ll guide you through some prompts, I want you to have the space as a family to be as you are naturally - to capture those fleeting moments before your kids start kindergarten, all the way to before they’re off to college.

This leaves you with images that reflect how you feel when you’re together with your people!

Let’s face it - your wedding day can go by so quickly.

There is so much happening, and it can be tough to stay present and really soak in those moments with your loved ones.

(Which is why I go through an itinerary with my clients to make the day as smooth as possible so you can fully take it all in!)

This is why wedding photos are so key - when you’re on your 30th anniversary looking through your wedding photos all of those memories and emotions rush back and you feel like you’re reliving that day all over again.

Like having a first look with your family, and saying ‘I Do’ to your person.

When planning this shoot, these two told me they just wanted to be their goofy, super in love selves, but they were feeling like they were going to look awkward in front of the camera, based off past photos others had taken of them.

After meeting with them, I knew they wanted natural, photos that felt true to them and to fully capture their love for each other. I think we nailed that!

Once we got going with the shoot, we all had such a blast. It felt so easy capturing these two as they were so in love, and there was so much laughter and ease!

I know it can feel scary in front of the camera, but it helps when you’re as in love as these two are 😉

Also hot tip: wedding invitations are the perfect way to use your engagement photos!

Jessie and Casey got married at one of my favourite wedding venues - Gowlland Harbour on Quadra Island. I really loved being part of this wedding day. I believe these moments caught on film are going to be so special for their children as they grow up. How cool is it that when their kids get married or have their own children, they can still go back to this video? Suprise Graduation Helicopter Tour Photoshoot

I'm sure we all feel like the last 2 years have FLOWN by. It's easy to see now that life is pretty short - why not make the most of it!? Nothing could’ve stopped these 3 grads from poppin’ champagne. In 2019, I booked 28 Photoshoots In 2020, I booked 90 Photoshoots In 2021, I booked 120 Photoshoots 2021 was the year I went full time with this business which felt like the scariest jump at the time. This was also the year: ✅ I levelled up my service offerings and workflows ✅ Had a video hit 555,000 views with 54,000 likes ✅ Filmed just as many weddings as I photographed ✅ Finished & launched my New Website ✅ Invested in myself to develop new skills which lead to photographing my favourite images of all time There’s so much more I’m probably forgetting! But what is really on my mind is the bonds I created with the clients I worked with. I felt truly valued as an artist from so many of you and was treated like family at all the weddings I photographed. Because of this, my 2022 goals won’t necessarily be focused on growth, but simply more relationships, community, and bonding. I want my clients to feel like they’ve known me forever, like I’m someone they want to grab a drink with and vice versa. Instead of spreading myself too thin, I aim to focus on quality over quantity in my work and relationships, if that makes sense. As I mentioned early, I was taking both photo and video throughout the entire day! Now that this Wedding Trailer is done, onto the Wedding Film which is a much longer, in-depth video of the full day ✌️

Branding Photography Session in Campbell River

This makes me feel some kind of way. A little behind the scenes + final product! I’ve known Glenn almost my entire life, so I went into this artistic session with no expectations. Usually, I like to find some inspiration beforehand, but this time we decided to just wing it and all the pieces just came together The goal of these photos is to be used for his music. I listened to it during the editing process which really drove these concepts, colours and feel 🤝
