Let’s face it, discussing finances isn’t the most glamorous part of wedding planning. But it is arguably the most important place to start. Knowing the budget you have to work with is key in determining your priorities and securing big-ticket items like your venue. So, how do you come up with a wedding budget? Here’s our advice:

Figure out who will contribute (and how much): Whether you have family members who wish to contribute or you will use your savings, understanding how much you have to work with will help you determine your bottom line.

Discuss your priorities: What matters most to you and your fiance? Is it lavish decor and a glamorous party, or a delicious meal? Knowing where you want to spend your budget will help direct a lot of early decisions.

Brainstorm your guest list: The budget and the guest list often influence each other: As you invite more people costs will inevitably increase. Plus, you need to know the guest count before investing in the biggest wedding cost – your venue.

How far in advance should you book your venue?

Amidst the excitement of choosing your bridal party, sending save the dates, and finalizing the guest list, one crucial decision stands out: securing your wedding venue. Here are some key factors to consider before booking…

1. If your heart is set on a particular date, it’s best to start reaching out to venues ASAP (especially if that date is in high season). We’re already sold out for August 2025 at all 3 venues!

2. Most couples book their venue 12-18 months in advance, giving them peace of mind and ample time to organize other vendors and logistics.

3. You can book your venue without having all the details figured out! The only detail you need is your estimated guest count.

Not only do we not have any hidden fees, but we *do not* charge extra for many services that venues often hide in their terms and conditions. That includes…
